My 86 R resto is underway i have the new powdercoated frame arriving tomorrow and its a ground up rebuild with all new OEM plastics, decals etc This one will be pretty much stock as i have always liked the look of the 86 machine , its a classic ! anyway i will update this thread as it comes together over the next month or so.
Thanks to JMC's workshop for the help with the usual issues with rebuilds, thanks John !
Heres a pic when i brought it back from QLD in March '06 and now stripped ready for the new frame......

Hi Joel
Its Flame Red,its pretty close to the original when you see it in person,i have all the black parts getting a black stain powdered as well, only problem is i have the rear axle frozen in the carrier or the swinger would be getting done gold as well...going to have to get it pressed out i guess.

Little more progress,
Forks Fitted with new OEM fork boots
New OEM grab bar,satin black.
New OEM tool box.
New OEM rear brake res tank.
New OEM headlight including new mounting rubbers, all original Honda !
Fitted the coolant tank and airbox after a good detail.

Ive got a frame decal kit in the way from the US to give it that factory look, probably will fit the wiring harness this weekend it needs a good detail before installation.

Factory frame decals came in from my buddy Harlan in the US and the powder dude has finished the black stain bits, just the swinger to go and its back on all three. Here's a bit of a plug for PRO-STRIP at Redhead Cliff and the boys blast and powder all at the same factory and they take care of small work like the trikes...many thanks again !!

rear fender cracked needs replacing, front fender, tank n shrouds all weathered pretty badly

You can restore the tank with a good wet and dry then polish takes time but gives good results...what's your email addy and i will send you a pic of what i have available.
