We'd had a bit of a day and had settled into a few home brews after tea.
Bugger. A bit light on tobacco. And a few under the belt.
There is a 7/11 up the road aways.
Too risky to drive and too far too walk. A bit cool too.
Out with the pushy, on with a coat, bita cash and I'm off.

It's the coat I normally take quadding in winter, so it's got a few essentials in it. Radio , torch that sort of stuff.

It's only when I pull up that I sort of realise that it's got a 2 way anntenna sticking out of one pocket and a fair lump making a impression in the another pocket.....

The guy who served me had been robbed only a few nights ago. eek
He's of the appearance that he's a recent arrival from some place that ends in "stan, and he's a lot smaller than me......

He spots the lump in the pocket and the antenna, gets real nervous and asks what I would like.

So I put my hand in the pocket to grab the cash, ask for a packet of tobacco, and this guy does a awesome imitation of a caucasion and looks ready to put his hands up!

I pull out the cash, and he settles down a bit, whispers "Are you ssecurity?"

"No mate. I'm @#$ nieghbourhood watch!"

Best price I ever got from a 7/11!

Priceless.....

Its a bit like that Simpsons episode the other night when Hommer goes to the bank eating a toffee apple and the sign on the door says 'No Food', so he puts the toffee apple in his coat pocket after taking a last bite before walking in. A chick see's the lump in his pocket and shouts 'he's got a gun'. Hommer cant get the toffee apple out of his pocket cos it's stuck and he can't explain cos his mouth is full....lol

Yes, the image of "Arpoo @ his Quickie-mart" in downtown Springfield often crosses my mind when I think of the local 7/11's........... Rolls eyes

I've noticed that too, there's a bit of a trend happening there and also the night staff at servos. I once had a job to check light levels for all of the south coast of NSW for Mobil service stations and 90% of the night workers were that nationality. I also noticed a lot of sawn off shot guns under the counters!
