OK Boys, lets put genius to work. I have a 125cc that has backwards kick and electric start, so far I have found the electric start.....well.....crap...so I want to know is there a way to modify the kick start or even do some fancy work to make it so I can kick start the bloody thing. It's on a Honda 70 so room is minimal.
Cheers, ButcherBoy

Yeh they can be fitted checkout peewee the pinstripers 70s.otherwise dibble and I did use some gearbox gears and made a forward kick start of the foot pegs for my laydown.a little to much compression though and they eventually broke.I reckon for the 125 but it would be sweet.but also just a thought why not undo the kickstart and turn it as forward as much as you can on the spline and see if you can pull up on it to start it. Worth a go at least I reckon you would get just enough pull on it to kick it over.

You can fit the stock atc70 pullstart side cover to a chinese laydown engine with a bit of grinding on the inside to clear the CDI, then you machine the flywheel down and fit the 70 pullstart cage to it. Then, depending what pullstarter you have, you need to make a spacer for it (pre '81 you need a 10mm spacer, '82 onwards a 5mm spacer.)
There is a hickup tho, I think this can only work on the kickstart only engines because the electric start flywheels are different......
The other option is to make a flip up rear fender mount, or race cut the rear guards.

Go look at dratv.com in the atc70 section, there is some good info there. Also check out
sterdyproducts.com they sell atc70 stuff and pullstart kits for pitbike engines.
Lastly, on the home page of sterdy products there is a link for the Glamis dunes forums (next to the red shop now arrow) This forum is the best place for info on modifying atc70 in the world! Thats where peewee is from. There are endless pages of info and pitcures plus helpful people. You have to join up to see the pictures but thats easy.
If you have any questions, send me a pm. Smile
