Just heard from Kimbo, weather is great, the riders are out on their recce lap and there is a light breeze carrying away the dust so it sounds like good conditions for the race, there are 110 entered for this years event so there should be plenty of competition.

fossil may have fared better than me after all (if he'd bothered to go)
i drew the first pair off the line Saturday morning session, thought this could be a good sign - no one in front to chase, no dust in my eyes.
took the lead into the bush, then promptly gave it up overshooting a tight corner ! that proved to be the tip of the iceberg for the first lap - arguing with trees and fences, costing about 5 mins.
but wait, thats not all - came in after the second lap to re-fuel, went out feeling great and ran out of fuel about 25km mark ! (must have been going harder than i realised - thats my version and i'm sticking to it).
anyway, that put me at the back of the field for the rest of the event cause i didnt register a third lap time 
hopefully pics should be up soon.
counting down for Hyden 2012 !

quite right.
this is one awsome event, congrats and thanks to all organisers and volunteers (including Melissa who did some time keeping clearly my sexual bribery didnt work)- i've been 4 years now but bugger it, i'll try vets class next year 
we should organise a crew for next year ??

Yes well done mate. The lap times looked awfully quick, the track must have been a cracker. I will be there in 2012 for sure.
