Does anyone know if I can get like a Douglas rim or something of the sort (aluminum) to fit the genuine ATC 70 ohtsu tyres?pretty sure you can't .thought I'd ask the question though.
Cheers

Don't know about fitting the standard tyres to those.

Yeh they emailed me back today(sterdy products) and it seems they only fit the "cheng shin" style 70 tyre.So that's a bummer would have liked some alloy rims to go with my new ohtsus.

But your right Jye, has me thinking why the guy reckons the cheng shin will fit but not the ohtsu there both a 16x8x7 tyre.If it fits one why not the other?

Because the genuine tyre fits on a tapered two piece rim. It relies on the rim taper to stay mounted where the chen shin type tyres pop over a bump in the rim to stay mounted.

Before you change track... does anyone KNOW if they won't fit.

I know the Cheng Shins and the Wammies fit the 2 piece rims with about the same resistance to seat the beads all the way out.
On clean rims, they are both very easy.
Being the same on the 2 piece rims... maybe they are the same on the 1 piece alloys.
I don't think popping over the safety bead would be the biggest concern, maybe just fitting them over the outer rim will be a battle.
But then people can fit smaller and fatter Go-Kart tyres up, so maybe there is no problem.
I don't know anyone who has tried the one piece alloys, and I would have the same concerns, but they could be an easy and perfect fit Smile

I know they won't fit. The bead is two to three times wider than the Cheng Shin types plus the the Ohtsus have a retaining ring which will not seat on the non-tapered rims.
Been there done that.

Find someone with a cnc lathe and a big lump of aluminium and make your own.
Probably expensive but how much do you want alloy rims.

Why dont you get some stock wheels polished and painted clear, that would look pretty good...

Mate I've come to the conlcusion I'm going to sand blast the stock rims and spray them in a metallic silver two pack if I can find a good one(maybe some one on here can enlighten me).And them spray them in a clear top coat it's the only way I can see.
