Well done mate.
It was an Awesome weekend - again - well done to Brett and Craig for completing what was a very hard track. better luck next year JimmyO, get that quad fixed up proper.
The old boy on the 30 year old Maico finished this year not bad for an old fart on an old bike with a small budget. _________________ Cheers,

It was a tough course and day 1 broke me but I had a great run day two and managed to finish the race. It was great to meet you Streeto and Muzz thanks to both of you for your advice and assistance during the weekend. I look forward to seeing the photos. _________________ 2009 LT-R450

Got an email tonight from GasDash, as I'm sure most of you did as well. Suggestion of doing the race from Carnarvon out to Coonatha, then back again the next day.
Sounds interesting. _________________ Cheers,

How many km's would it end up covering if this was the new format? And did they say if it would be the same course there and back? Or different route for the return leg? _________________ Finke virgin for 2011.....

I think it would be around the 600 km. I was always led to believe that we did +/- 187 Km's on day one and +/- 317 on day two. So if we are theoreticaly doing day two twice, then it would have to be about 600 + Km. I think it would be fantastic as I think doing the river section back to front would be really interesting. Leaving Carnarvon on those fast fence line sections would also spread the field and lessen the dust issues. Logistics from the organisers would have to be spot on as if there are any delays due to cars stuck on the track etc there would be serious daylight issues etc. _________________ Its not if you win or lose but how you enjoyed the ride! |

The other issue Richard is you would almost need two pit crews, because you don't want to be getting into camp at Coonatha late and then have to set up camp as well as deal with any issues you might have with your car/bike/quad _________________ Cheers,
