the state title has been run and won, congrats to all the riders for putting on a great display of riding. Racing went according to the form guide at Gillman Speedway tonight (3 March), when this season's most outstanding rider, Mel Brandle, went through the card unbeaten to win the CRC 2012 South Australian Quad Championship.
Brandle has been close before but unable to take that top step on the podium, until tonight.
In 2009 he finished third behind James Kolecki and Ben Hall; in 2010 he was actually the first across the line but had been excluded for a clash with Dan Jarvis during the race; and last season he was unbeaten in the heats but lost out to Jarvis in the final.
He had no dramas tonight, however, as he won all his heats easily, and in the fastest times of the night, before winning the final, in his closest race of the night, from Kolecki, Chris Cluse and Dan Jarvis, with Robert Shepherd excluded for going infield _________________ yeah mate nah |

it was a great night with some very good racing with one unfortunate accident ( hope Mouldy is well).
Congratulations to Mel , James and Chris on taking out the placings. well done to Dan for making yet another final.
Thanks to Rob and Gav for making the trip over from Mildura and we hope to see more of you guys in the future ( maybe over there).
Last of all congratulations to all the other riders that took part and the organisers to make this a great event. Keep up the great work. |
