G’day folks,
SBRVASG
Stockton Beach RVA Social Group
Do you ride a Quad, Trike, or Bike? Sunday the 29/4/12 a meeting will be held at the scout hall at Williamtown @ 10am to continue numbers for our social group, and pass on the results of our first meeting with NPWS. The starting of this group is to register numbers to be of assistance with the future planning with NPWS and WCL during the development of the changes which will occur under the new plan of management being developed for the Worimi conservation lands area. Your support and input would be greatly appreciated. If you do use this area, you should realise the importance of it.
For details please contact Brad on 0447498050.
It’s come time for our second gathering. There is alot to tell you about so far, so if you can, please find the time to attend the second gathering it would of course be greatly appreciated. There will be a BBQ and drinks available on the day for only $2 a drink and $2.50 a sausage sandwich. This will become the start of our fund raising process.
If those who have not responded to details request please get back to me as the info is only to make contacting you easier.
It would also be great if we could all continue to talk to other potential members and bring them along to the gathering and encourage them to join.
Cheers Brad.

G'day Leigh,
As per our phone conversation, Thankyou for realising the effect you may have potentially had!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
At this point in time it has taken a some of money, time and thought to get this far so far.
As for sitting here on my family holiday, smelling the steaks and sausages bought from my LOCAL butcher, which does so happen to be your cousin, which is currently being cooked on the BBQ by my wife instead of me while I respond to this non sense, I hope that you will discover the error in your reaction and look at the bigger picture.
If I can save a some of money (no matter how small) in the latest donation to making this work, I shall.
I hope to hear from you shortly and see you at the meeting as well as receive some more positive input and effort in the future.
Cheers Brad. _________________ LTR 450 no 187 |

Meeting seemed to go OK. All members will receive notice of outcomes from meeting and dates for next meeting.
We are not going to be posting the info that took place at the meetings on the forum, only using the forum to advertise the upcoming details of next meeting mate, other wise it sort of starts to defeat the purpose of the social group having the gatherings. _________________ LTR 450 no 187 |

Umm I think you will find that the purpose of the meeting was to ensure the rva stays, not to promote your empire/boys club.
Personally, I think keeping it a secret will harm the purpose of your group.
Also, does it cost to join? If not, what's the big deal? How about everyone is a member, we all wanna ride and if everyone has the same attitude towards the rva, the rangers and governing bodies it will help your cause. |

The purpose of the group IS to keep the rva open ..cant just say everyone is in the group ,we need numbers/members to turn up to meetings give there details
SBRVARG is to show that there is a major group of riders that do not abuse the land and that we want the rva to continue
500 individual riders with 1rep all doing there own thing hasn't worked in the past an wouldn't in the future.
Just with our 70 members we have shown we are serious
The next meeting is an important one so maximum attendance would be great

I don't think anyone is against the cause, jus the decision of keeping the discussion within the cult.
I might join and might even go but I don't know whether it's worth it considering I don't even know what the scope of the cult is. |

Not posting the meeting discussions on the forum was something that was brought up in the first meeting and the majority of everyone that attended agreed that they shouldnt be put up
Because if all the info/meeting news was put up on the forum, people who were or weren't in the group could post negative or abusive comments towards NPWS or worimi or 4wders or whoever and it reflects badly on the SBRVASG which is trying to change this attitude amongst the riders and and other beach users
Come to a meeting and voice your opinion about it all....easy _________________ If in Doubt.. Flat out

G'day Guys,
I can see why you guys may feel that way. As it was pointed out previously, the aim of the group is to promote positive behave, change in the perceived attitudes of the authorities and public, and gain numbers to be heard as a group rather than individuals. I can positively state that we are anything other than a cult, empire or boys club.
The question is ARE YOU prepared to do something positive towards the areas future use?
The group came about from a few people making an effort, which I think many people are interested in through the common problems we all face. ALL PEOPLE are welcome.
We do not report the outcomes on the Forum as it is exactly that. This was a majority decision from those who ATTENDED the meetings. The reasons for this Richie stated quite well.
In helping out with the group so far there seems to be 3 types of people;
1. those who offer help and support
2. those who are happy to be apart of the group and hopefully help out with the future of the area and finally
3. Those who continue to sit back and be as negative as possible through the use of the forum and a lack of motivation to act. We can all right negative things on a key board.
We are only a social group doing what we can. But from the thoughts of those who have made the effort and the authorities it seems to be a move in the right direction.
Cheers Brad. _________________ LTR 450 no 187 |

Hey brad,
Asking on the outcomes of your discussions is hardly negative as you're implying.
I might like to join your group had it be a transparent group. Keeping it secret makes it look like there is something to hide and I'm not implying there is before you go there. I am very interested in hearing how your social group plans to change the attitude of those that use the rva to be more positive towards "the man" and the environment without communicating with them using the best tool ever, this forum.
I honestly believe you and your possie are trying hard and want the best for the rva but I am just concerned with your method.
I know it's tough being a leader of a group, I as part of my work am on the executive and something that you have to be good at is dealing with and coping with critisim which is something you're showing to struggle with. Good luck with it. |

G'day Haggle,
I agree with your comments on dealing with critisim.
The point being, if you do feel you would like to join and have an input you are more than welcome. However, I would ask (obviously not put to the 80 members this time of night) that you join the group ( not the possie, clan, empire, boys club ) with a positive, helpful and desired attitude rather then doing what you can to cause negativity, friction and a response desired.

SBRVASG
G’day Folks,
Firstly, a big warm welcome to all our new members.
Secondly, a massive thankyou to all who turned out to the second meeting and especially for the guys who made the special effort to help pull it together. Your efforts are greatly appreciated and I can proudly say all went home with full bellies and you should be proud as you guys successfully raised $195. That’s a big effort considering the people who turned up. I can’t thank the people who continually put their hand in their pockets to make the group run smoothly enough.
But now it’s come time for our 3rd gathering. There is alot more work that needs to be done if we wish to become the group all wanted to support at the first meeting, so if you can, please find the time to attend the 3rd gathering it would of course be greatly appreciated. There will be a BBQ and drinks available on the day for only $2 a drink and $2.50 a sausage sandwich. This will become the continuation of our fund raising process.
At this point in time we have some Guests coming to the meeting as per discussions at the First 2 meetings. SO REMEMBER THE IMPORTANT DETAILS, let’s not get carried away, let’s continue to be polite and courteous as I think the importance of how we are viewed by the powers that be is now more important than ever.
Once again, if those who have not responded to details request could please get back to me as the info is only to make contacting you easier.
It would also be great if we could all continue to talk to other potential members and bring them along to the gathering and encourage them to join, remember the more numbers the bigger the force. This is a great opportunity to show the start of our numbers, so let’s not miss our chance to really start to pull some bigger numbers. This may mean your mate who is into Fishing, Camping, 4WDing, Surfing or even bird watching on Stockton Beach. Remember, the new Plan of Management will impact on us all.
The next gathering will be once again held at Williamtown Community Hall on Nelson Bay Road, just after the Airport turn off, before the roundabout turn off to Fighter World.
Meeting time will be 12:30pm on Saturday the 2nd of June.
For further details don’t hesitate contact me, remember you guys have all my details.
Cheers Brad.

G'day Jason,
Not having a bike yet is not a big deal mate. The changes which we are going to see in the new Plan of Management of the beach and it's surroundings are going to affect everybody who use's the area in one way or another.
As I called for it's now important that all who visit the beach become aware of the upcoming PoM are aware.
