From what i can see so far, we are heading in the same direction as the past............F**CKIN NOWHERE. Everyone has their own little events they want to go to, but not to many people are willing to travel, so we end up with 5 quads spread out over NSW. So far i heard "i cant afford slick type tyres ", well im sorry, but if you live in Sydney and you want to race, you NEED veloce/hoosiers/american racers, otherwise go TRAILRIDING. We have people who turn up at motard events say they cant afford a MA license, therefore dont turn up on race days when it counts......If you can afford to spend a $100 bucks every weekend practising motard, you can afford a MA license, so get off your lazy butt and get your license, you NEED your license to race, so if your SERIOUS about racing, get your license. The more MA licenses for Quads that are hand out, the more MA might realise there are Quad riders that want to race and maybe help us get other venues.

I have posted race/practise dates, aswell as Adrian,Tzkev and whoever else but doesnt seem like we have sorted anything out, lets just get a date sorted and ALL try our best to get to it, even if your bike is not ready for it, come anyway so we can discuss the future of our sport, I'll put on a BBQ and we'll make it a social/ride day !!!

I'm willing to drive anywhere, do any discipline to get numbers to some of these events................BUT when no one turns up to COWRA for example, why would the cowra boys want to support BARLIEGH RANCH, and if no one turns up at NEPEAN RACEWAY, no one will be going out of their way to support anyone else and then everyone says F**CK THEM and we all get NOWWHERE..., so we need to SUPPORT each other !!

I understand everyone has other Commitments, FAMILY etc and won't be able to make it to some of these events, but i know some who have told me they won't drive 2-3 hours to ride/race....well STOP COMPLAINING about theres NO RACE meets, There is plenty of opportunites for us to race, but expect to drive long distances. I would love nothing more to drive half an hour to race, but dont expect people to do what you WON'T do for them.....!!!

Just my 2cents worth !!

you have a fair point there but quads are still young in oz mate,

another year or so and i think we will be complaining because there are to many people at races, and we need more venues......

admittedly it does cost quite a bit to turn a trail/weekend basher quad into a competitive race bike....

i'm currently setting mine up for cowra this weekend.

but in saying that, i think that perhaps insted of organising a "race" at a track which require day licences, nerfs, kill switch, spcific tyres for some tracks, saftey equipment etc etc.... maybe a social ride day/weekend at a dirt bike farm which is relatively central, mainly to "break the ice" so to speak and to get in contact with people etc.

just a thought. no so intimidating for some

cheers, ryan

i know how you feel mate. in qld, we have it a little better but only just.
we get up to 13-15 at a mx meet but thats its.
the advantage vic has is its smaller size. nsw and qld are alot larger states and our quad riders are spread out.

You could always move to vic, there must be heaps of room as they are all moving to qld.... bloody mexicans !!

yeah but all our quad riders are staying here. Razz

we still have to drive 3-4 hrs to some events and some guys travel up to 8-10 hrs for an mx meet. just cos there is less space here doesn't make it any easier to get them together and we regularly get 70-80 entrys.

Hi! look i`m only new to this forum but I have read with interest the comments from the nsw riders about how hard it is to get a race up there,It seems to me what you guys need is a stong united committed club with a strong committed MX/RACE committe, to make things happen in the interests of all their club members ( mx motard speedway enduro etc.) lots of comments about why vic has such a successful series ( small state not far to travel etc. bainsdale to warnambool aint just around the corner ) China came down from northern nsw last year for most rounds Ric comes from the act this year a couple of others come from sa for each & every round, so distance doesn`t seem to be the issue, our events are subscribed to because WE as a club QRCV make them happen for ourselves we don`t wait for someone else to do it, they are great events because we work together to achive success ( lobby for venues race formats juniors etc ) so come on nsw get together and create your own future because it really is in your own hands.
