I was just looking at 07 400EX rear shocks on ebay. They look very similar to the 450R but the reservior is centred. This would eliminate having to mod the frame, though it may get in the way of the intake. Has anyone got one for a closer look?

your air box on the 250r would still be to close you will need to run a remote resi after market the 400 has heaps of room and the 450 the same

I got the swingarm installed today, but while installing the shock, I noticed it wants to hit the right side of the upper subframe (close to where the rear brake rezzy mounts). Anyone encountered this? What's the fix?

Also, the rezzy hits the portion of the downtube behind where the shock bolts in up top.

This is not working for me.

Any info is greatly appreciated.

Hi all, sorry for not getting back to this for a while or answering any pm's.
All clearance problems were solved by buying a rear shock out of a predetor 500 (elka with remote res standard and dirt cheap). I run this with no links. The performance is twice as good as the 450r shock and ride height perfect. Saved more weight too. Only problem is i blew out the front fork seals looking for more bumps to soak up.

Thanks for the info, BC. I'll have to find a rear shock like that.

2007 TRX450R rear shock (silver spring) for sale.

What year Polaris Predator? I see used Fox shocks from Predators on ebay, but the Elka's are new and over $1,000.00

Does your Elka shock have the same double prong bottom attachment like the TRX450R shock or single eyelet that would require mods to make it work?

Thanks!

Nice job mate!
I know this is a very old post but it is an old trike after all???
Do you have the new slightly wider bearing specs for the axle? I'm trying to get all the bits together before pulling down my 86 for a full restore.

I'm also planning on buying an adjustable link which can be purchased for the TRX450r to fix the height problems created by the rear most link being further back. here are a couple of links;

and

I see no reason for them to not work.
