This thread has been very quiet.
Who is excited about this? Who is contemplating giving, 1, 2 or all 3 rounds a go?
At this stage I am definitely doing the last 2 rounds, but am looking to get enough support to make the trip down south for round 1. |

| I think that might need to be reviewed if they are serious on getting anywhere near 20 entries . |

| I somewhat agree and disagree with that. I know that 20min + 1 lap will scare people away. But at the same time we are trying to show the MX world that we take quad motocross seriously! So the fact that it is 20min + 1 lap just means I am stepping up my training more to ensure that I can go the distance. We just need to look at it in a positive way. |

Also, please be aware that any rider wanting to ride the 2013 MX Nationals MXQ class will have to have their front number plate printed in accordance with the MX Nationals Supp Regs.
MX Nationals will be releasing the design Next Monday. So if you are currently designing graphics, hold off on printing them. |

from memory i think when the quad nats were at Murray Bridge '09 the Pro's were still doing 20min + 1 Lap approx 14 laps per race... cant remember what sort of transponders they ran, otherwise we could look it up
Does anyone know if the scoring system in the sup regs will also be used for quads? _________________ www.waquadmx.com |

Kevin would love your feedback as riders so don't hesitate to e-mail him from his site.
The racing will likely be 15min+1 lap and Kevin has some flexibility with the venue.
It is possible that he'll change the format a little, like include more practice laps for quads to keep the total riding up.
I suggested a 3rd heat 3 lap sprint race if it fits in time wise. Dunno?
In it's second year, this event is going to be awesome.
People are going to expect Quads and look forward to the show that you guys put on.
Good luck to all those with the courage to enter and show off our sport at the highest level.
e-mail WEM if you have any concerns. _________________ Can-Am X Team

Well.... it is a month and 2 days out from the first round for ATV's and there are still only 4 nominations. One of them being mine which is in serious doubt seeing I don't own a quad at the moment......
Is there anyone else nominating? I know of a few more, but are we going to get a decent size grid? |

It is with great pleasure that WEM keep the quads on board and I know Kevin is excited about the prospect of making this even bigger in future years.
With Monster Energy back on board, this year is set to be even bigger and better.
Please dont miss out on getting your entries in
Remember this is an Open class which means you can all enter and once the Australian Titles are here you can go back to your class unless you have proven yourself as a Pro. ( eg:- times etc )
This is all explained in the GCR's and the supp regs
This is once again the perfect opportunity to get your sponsors on board big time knowing that there will be over 10,000 spectators, Local news, TV, Magazines etc just to mention a few of the media that will be present at these event
The more we go to these events the more quads gets recognised in Australia.
Tag timing will be used again for our quads and the Australian Titles.
There is some big names attending and big news heading our way soon so remember to get your entries in and dont miss out on this great opportunity
And as Bullet said don't hesitate to contact kevin or myself if you have any questions.
Lets make quads unforgettable in Australia and support his great event.
Look forward to seeing you all there
cheers

Thanks to all of Australias top Quad riders that made the Quads such a huge event at the Monster Energy MX Nationals at Murray Bridge.
It was just about a full grid of greatest cross section in Australias Quad riding history.
Every state was represented and the age group was 16 to 50.
Every manufacturer was represented and it was interesting to see some new team colours and riders switching it up to different brands.
We shouldn't keep Kevin Williams sweating like we did with only 10 riders booked in a week before thr event... but Kevin was wrapped with the result.
We all have to realise that Kevin could pick any one of 3 or 4 other classes and fill a grid of 40. So maybe he throws business sense out the window when he chooses to put Quads on the National Stage.
Together with every rider that entered... you guys put Quads on the map, in front of more than 10,000 spectators.
And you all did Quads proud.
Racing the big, tough, turned up 2 wheeler track was never going to be easy at the National level.
Some of our Quad guys race 2 wheelers or race with them quite often. But even they were commenting on how much work the track was.
Chris Bosnakis (WA) showed that many experienced old dogs have might have a bit to learn from 16 year old Pro racers, as he took out both races for the day.
The tough track shaped up to be a young fellas game, with Jake Van Vleit, flying notably cleaner than Bosnakis but not quite having the pace.
Adam Larson (Vic) pushed hard around the top of the field, and it was good to see Mitch Van Vleit (Vic) finding some consistency at the pointy end too.
Daniel Middletons Kwaka (NSW) did a lot of overtaking to to claw at the podium positions.
Troy Sheridans Can-Am (Tas) is probably more used to winning Enduros in knee deep mud, but climbing through the top MX field saw him collect impressive season points.
Luke Gaisford (WA) was our greatest loss early in race 1. He set the fastest lap for the day and it looked like Australias 2012 Number 1 was going to be the young fella to beat in 2013. Not able to recover from a big Quad pack crash saw him out of the racing for the day, and off to a nice fresh recovery bed in hospital. All the best with your recovery Luke.
Mark Alcorn (NT) was finding it tough in the mid pack, and there were many like him scratching their heads trying to set their suspension for the tough two wheeler conditions.
Paul Worth (NSW) is a legend of the whoops who returned to MX to see just how hard it is these days. It's hard. He found out.
Josh D!ck (QLD) switched to a Yamaha for the day and ran solid mid field on a bike he might need a bit more time on.
Local knowledge counted for nothing as Dean McMillan (SA) threw a borrowed Suzuki around the track seeing how close he could keep with the young fellas.
Pistol Pete Middleton (NSW) brough a similarly massive amount of racing experience to the racing but would have traded most of that to halve his age and kick more butts.
I've missed a few names in that lot, but you are all legends.
You just put on Australias biggest modern day Quad MX in front of the biggest screaming crowd.
Thanks to the big off track names like Adam Siemensma and Luke Beechy their presence in the pits. Thanks also to the families and support networks that made it happen for your racers and the sport.
Special thanks to all the Mums who make the difference... even if they do turn their heads and don't watch their young ones ripping up the track.
You were all so awesome to watch and definitely made me feel like I wanted to be out there on the track with you... well right up until I watched the first 18 Quad charge for the first holeshot corner
It was very impressive stuff.
Well done and thank you to all racers, you are all winners _________________ Can-Am X Team
