I think this crank is a 61mm not 65mm as the item description says. All these kits were 61mm weren't they John? Just like the vintage documentation in the photo says...

Only one bloke that I know of that was getting 65mm stroker cranks made and he wasn't a yank... I don't think he was using shortened conrods either.

Makes it a 178cc kit.

Nope, definitely 65mm. Not all the cranks were 61 either. Depended on where the cranks were modified. Pauter would not go bigger than 61 for fear of unreliability but helm and son went up to 65 on 90 cranks and 67 on the 110 cranks which were slightly bigger on the crank web diameter. I went to the Helm and Son factory in Phoenix and witnessed all this first hand as well as Pauter Machine in Chula Vista.
As far as the paper work go's it is the same case specs as the Pauter 61mm crank as the Helm and Son 65mm cranks had a bit more machined off the rod big end.
Don't forget I got this stuff new, visited the manufacturers and know what I have. The Oz made strokers were not in any way comparable to the Yank stuff. Sad but true.

Ok. I'd never seen them before. Quite rare.

Do you need one of these with it?
