We'll I've bought a 86 250es (super red).
Was a bit hard to start ended up draining the tank of its rust etc(not too bad) cleaned tap out but there's crap in the carb.
Everything else seems to be good, goes forward, backwards n stops.
It needs a carby kit, exhaust gasket, bit of lipstick n a new outfit and she'll be good to go.
Gunna put heated grips, hid headlight, led tailights, maybe a spotlight too.

I'll put some pics up soon, I'm away for work.

Don't see too many these days.
Add adjusting valve clearances to the list.
Good luck with it.

Yep valves will be checked.

Bit of a update.
Waiting on a carb kit to come in but I did get the exhaust gasket. Put it in today noticed the PO had installed a off cut of pipe instead of a gasket. Lol
Y bother with a bodgy job. Put the new gasket in n all good, nice n quiet.

The battery doesn't seem to hold change but I do have to crank it a bit due to carby/tap issues.
Put a multimeter on the battery when it was running n I only got 11.6 v, shouldn't I be getting 12 plus when running?
Would that mean the voltage regulator is gone or could it be something else, anyone got any ideas?
Gunna pull the racks off this Satdy and paint em up n change plastics.

I'll post up some pics too this weekend.

Also got a full cobra(ol school) exhaust for my 350x. Hoping to fit cobra header to my supertrapp muffler. Header is "a big bore" ,larger pipes.
Should give it a bit more power.

Find a wiring diagram and then google how to test each component in the charging system.

My parents have a small property down South but I'll mostly be using it for hunting. We go on properties that are 30 thousand acres plus.

I just realised looking at these pics I ran out of wiper sniper wire on Thursday. Lol

Wonder what's the chances of someone having super red stickers instead of big red

UPDATE
been chasing some gremlins with the running and/or not running.
Pulled the carb down gave it a clean, didnt find much wrong.
It stalled whilst idling then i could'nt get it to restart not even a cough.
So with not know how to test electrics I pulled it all off and have it box ready to send it away.
Hopefully they find something wrong, i know already it's not charging at full volts. Was also told that it could be the trigger coil.
Here's a pic of the stator (looks abit black n melttish) i was told that the ignition is wrapped in black which i think are the 2 large post but there's a few more on top that dont look too good.

Oh and I finally got the rust bolts n nuts apart so the mud flap is on too.
