QLD are talkin it up that they want the Big trophy ! Come on NSW don't let the Kanagaroo Kid hop away with the Trophy ! NSW has won it two years in a row ,lets make it a hatrick ! Rumble in the jungle says there will be no monkey business this time ,its theres ! Adrian Mohr better dust off the cob webs son ,ride Red ,Ride Honda !

Hi Redted
The guess work of who was going to win the "2007 Akubra Classis" was eliminated on the 08 / 05 /2007 when Ashley McInnes's entry forms landed on the race secretarys desk.
Last year Ashley fired a salvo of threatening warning shots across the bows of the quad dirt track world and had a few running for cover, some of whom are still running.
Ashley started the "2007 Qld Dirt Track Series" by taking a whole 1.45 seconds of my long standing Marybourgh race record, a record that has stood since the 2003 Australian Dirt Track Titles.
He then went to the 2007 Goldcoast Cup and won every single race over the two day event and despite spinning out on lap 3 in race#5 he still recorded a time of 0.23 seconds slower than my existing long standing race record.
To answer your question Redted, Ashley won 5 of the 6 races (he went bush in race 3) at the Akubra Classic last Sunday and also handed out a race record time of 1 min 27.32 second which was 7 seconds faster that the allpowers solo race and 5.56 seconds faster than the existing quad race record set last year.

1 st Ashley McInnes Qld Yamaha 410cc Banshee

2 nd Adrian Wise U.K. Yamaha 515cc Banshee

3 rd Matt (kangaroo kid) Qld Honda 525cc

( I dont know the finishing order of the other three riders,or who they were but I think he said they were from Qld also)

I don't know anymore detail than this because it was relayed to me via mobile phone from the circuit by my very excited little prodigy, Ashley, himself.

I phoned Chris Fuller (Akubra race organiser)Yesterday to see why there was no 450cc Class and he told me that and I quote "Not one single quad quy in N.S.W told him that the 450cc class even existed so how the F@#k can I cater for a class that I did not know about ?"
The supp regs for this years event were submitted to M.N.S.W. some months back and were based on last years very successful formula and were consequently approved by M.N.S.W.
He also told me that you had called him on a couple of occassions a couple of weeks before the "2007 Akubra Classic" and told him that you had just raced Dirt Track At Tamworth and that event Attracted Twenty Four quads in the 450 cc Class.
He has now assured me that now he is aware of this class it will now also be included in the "2008 Akubra Classic" supp regs. He also said "That there was only one 450cc quad entered in this years event and that was a chick from Qld".
I'm still not sure why you asked me " What happened to the 450cc Class" because it is you guys that live in N.S.W. and it was you guys that pestered the hell out of me to get it introduced, so am I now expected to contact every single one of YOUR N.S.W. clubs that YOU might want to race at and tell them all about YOUR new class ????????????

Hey Rumble !

I never pestered anyone about YOUR 450 class, i found out about YOUR rule changes after it had happened. I might agree they were good for the sport and thats as far as my input went, after the rules were changed.

Chris rang me 4 days before, not a COUPLE OF WEEKS, asking is any NSW riders going, so i guess not too many people had the chance to tell him about the rule changes. Apparently Qld new about this event long time before, WHY didnt they inform him ???? You new Ashleys entry form came in on the 8/5/07 so my guess was you had some input into this event, thats why i'm asking YOU......WHAT HAPPENED TO THE 450 CLASS ???????????????

i sat on my ass all last weekend and drank piss, all i wanted to do is race.

If you had spent less time "Guessing" and more time reading YOUR rule book (G.C.R.s) you would have known way back in January 07 ( five months ago) that the 450cc class had been introduced ! ! end of story.
