Hey Postie,
Yeah we had a nice shower of rain just before. I am looking forward to a run on the weekend. Might have a few visitors on sunday. Barry said he will come if he gets his bike finished in time and Myles might be coming as well.

yes well um the damage huskygoat has to fix - was sort of done by me... he tells me when i stood on a nerf bar the other day in snapped offf. i told him it just as well i didcause if the standar nerf can't handle me then that what i got an ali welder for....
realistically this is just an excuse to spend on the bike - you know - has to make it reliable because if we go all the way down there and it plays up I will not be happy cause we are only bring the one bike...
we are booked into king's motel _________________ Family is most important.... next is our quads |

at least it's nothing serious , better to find the bugs before the day
"and any excuse is better than none".
One of the local club members is also a Polaris dealer and I am sure if anything were to go wrong we would do everything possible to keep you guy's racing .
King's motel is that the new one on the way to the track ? |

Is King's ok?
Also whats the weather like down there?
Any thing special I need to pack for the kids (4) and us???
Are tear offs allowed? (hattah - they were not! and there were no roll off systems to be had in mildura for oakleys )
What is the ladies scene like down there?? How many normally turn up? _________________ Family is most important.... next is our quads |

vjcrose, I know for sure there is one lady riding. Im guessing if enough dont turn up to have a class of there own they will just mix in with the guys. So watch out fella's.
Hope you get that trailer done in time. _________________ Mic

Yeah kings is good , if you are coming down the quick way through Mt Isa it'll be the first motel you see on your left
Also whats the weather like down there?
Variable , I live 100km west and we had a mini tornado rip through town last week , the foreact is usually chance of showers but otherwise fine this time of year I will keep you posted on the 7 day forecast before the titles , I predict warm to hot
Any thing special I need to pack for the kids (4) and us???
I am not a parent but i'd guess Hat , Sunscreen ,portable dvd , dvd's , togs and "psp with mx v atv" [ if I were a kid ] .
Are tear offs allowed? (hattah - they were not! and there were no roll off systems to be had in mildura for oakleys )
Tearoffs / rolloffs are fine . How do they justify a rule like that ? Is it to control conditions
What is the ladies scene like down there?? How many normally turn up? |
My wife is the only female to have ridden the roma track and rides at a club level and is looking forward to it , though the level of riding i have seen in this class in the past is fast and fierce , I expect we should see a healthy grid I know they are out there , just hope they can make the roadtrip |

what does your wife ride?
I usually fight for last place in the gumby class, but am coming down for the experience.
Hattah - is run on a farm - and the farmer weren't to happy about his cow eating a tearoff after last year and dying.... plus the darling environmentists down that way don't like them...
usually I forget to tear it off but it's good to have the option.
re psp - polaris gave us some with the kids bikes. have the atv vs mx and also ATV offroad Fury - Blazin Trails which is pretty good too. the kids never get a go at the PSP's as they are really good to strengthen your throttle thumb |

Kel rides the good old ltz 400 [ likes the big comfy seat the most] and also looking forward to a bit of level competition .
I can understand where the landholder is coming from if he lost livestock , I wouldn't have thought a 50 cent tearoff could kill a possible $1000 dollar beast , something we could all be aware of I suppose .
I reckon an hour of sony a day helped with my thump pump and breathing but not so good for the upper and lower body workout . |

Hey vjcrose,
Bring as many tearoffs as you want and bring plenty of water (drinking water) if you like bottled water. As we are heading into summer its starting to really warm up.
On the motel bit, five of the local motels are offering special rates to those who mention they are part of the quad champs. They are the Explorers Inn (really nice and new. Offered a room for an official for nothing), Bungil creek motel (nice too), Roma Motel (middle of the range motel) Bryants and the Mandalay motels ( not to sure what they are like as owner called me when he heard about the quad champs).

That trailer looks a little over the top for you postie. He used a welder and not sheets of corrogated iron from the shack at fishermans rest and zippy ties and some rusty fencing wire. lol. Cmon I know how you operate out in Mitchell!!

righto - you asked for it
as of 5 mins ago - frame is finished and starting to sheet
and I just finished wiring this one - 10mins ago - was built for custom order but the guy said a couple of days ago that he and his missus have split so he doesn't want it now...
just don't look at the pull down strap ... not done yet
and as for under construction - this one is a big tandem job for another customer
and on the chitchat thread about trailer sizes I posted a pic of the one we took to Hattah - it carried 2 quads and 3 bikes 7000km at av 130km/hr no sweat.
and theres nothing wrong with a wee bit of wire - great for quickfix _________________ Family is most important.... next is our quads |
