 |
|
Hi guys
The motorcycle Sportsmen of Qld have finalized their supermotard "Underlights"club championship dates and they are as follows.
Rd 1 08 December 07
Rd 2 12 January 08
Rd 3 09 February 08
Rd 4 08 March 08
The club will be promoting both championship capacity classes for the quads.
Rounds 1 & 3 will be in an anti-clockwise direction
Rounds 2 & 4 will be in a clockwise direction (reverse)
Class Q1 upto 550cc 2stroke/ upto 700cc 4stroke (upto two cylinders)
Class Q2 (Premier) upto 450cc 4stroke/upto 300cc 2stroke(single cyl)
It has taken me a lot of time and effort to get this to happen and it is now time for the "Gunnas" to become "Do'ers" Lets start supporting the clubs that are supporting us. Hopefully this could be the start of something good that other clubs in other states might start adopting if this one appears to be succesful. I have been told by the club that they will do their best to help us get this going BUT we do also have to help ourselves aswell. If anybody has any questions or queries please just ask me and I will do my best to get you the right answers. The Sup Regs are available on www.motorcyclesportsmen.com.au or www.nominate.com.au

Hi Quad
I hear what you are saying, but things are starting to shape up at the moment, last saturday at the supermoto Australian Championships at Ipswich we had seven quad entered for the support class. Hopefully the upward trend will continue.

Hi "Quad"
The practice days are $50 - $60 a day, you will have to check the sup regs to see how much the "Championship Race Days" as I am not to sure because they all differ from club/state/national entry fees.

Hi Quad
It is a bit expensive compared to M.X. or Dirt track but were there is tarmac involved its always going to cost more. The upkeep and overheads of these venues are ridiculous. When the Sportsmen of Qld club hirer out the Ipswich Kart clubs venue it costs $1,800 for a weekday period of 12 hours ( 09.00am - 21.00pm). A saturday or sunday will cost $2,200 per day plus a share of any gate takings.
Other club expenses for a practise day only would include the costs of M.Q. rider levi, St Johns/ Red cross attendance and M.Q practise supervisor and track watering facilities.
It all adds to their costs and if they dont get a minimum of 55 riders on the practice day then the club does not even cover its costs and therfore loses money.

Hi Quad
4 X 10min rides is a rip off, we get 12 X 15min rides although most of us are usually too rooted to do all of the sessions.
