There are a few of us coming up with 47industries to race. We will also be at Finke with our truck and trailer, but fuel stops would be awsome.
Thanks guys, we will be in touch.

Great response We currently have 22 quads and 4 bikes on the list. some will pull out but there will be more. Once the number gets to 35 it can get a bit busy. If we can get 3 -4 guys for 70 km I can put all our guys at 150 where there is a little more work on the way down (drinks etc)
When we get a little closer I will a post a page that you can put down your needs at the pits

We have IMS dry breaks if anyone can get a hold of one for real serious guys can reduce your stops 2 1/2 minutes to 20sec x 4 stops is a saver but for rest of that are there for fun it doesn't matter much. |

Ok i'll look into the dry break, if you guys have the gear I'd be mad not to look into it. My mission is to pull a top 30 outright place it's a pritty tall order but I think it could be done _________________ Smitty |

hey cowchaser you need to lose 30 mins to be top 30 anything you need just ask. Prologue practice was on March 18 run by ASMX (last year) their calender isn't set yet I believe its a must . Jason Hill hired the Prologue track last weekend and smashed last years times by 5 seconds.

I did jason hills 2nd fuel stop this year and he runs a dry break fuel system and total stand still time was 8-9 sec ( taped on video and played back ) not much use if you need a rest though.
we did (i think) 13 2 wheelers and 2 quads and it can get busy when they turn up together. |

Hilly is awesome the man is a machine, when he chased down the laeders a few years ago to win, had to be one of the best finishes ever. But 5 secs on the prolouge track 4 months after the event is hard to gauge because of the diffrent conditions.
As for my 30 mins I had to of lost at least 10-15mins with a flat for 120kms and for the last 60kms i could only manage about 30km/ph. The other 15 is up to me maybe I should think about losing some kg's _________________ Smitty |

Thanks to every one who has called.
finke veterians - please tell if this is right...
first time quad riders to Finke can expect to pay
$1000approx frieght for their ride
Air fares/transport
entry fees around $500
need to be MA club member with full MA licence as no one day licence at finke
accomodation and food
fuel - 3 gerrys
u need a swag
spares
cost of fuel stops, overnight food etc( $30-$40)
Its not cheap
But for many its a once in a life time event

No penalties will give you an extra 5 min........and an extra 10kph wouldn't go astray either. If you could make up 15 min's with no penalties, no flats & faster fuel stops you will only need to average an extra 3kph to reach your goal........I know you can do it.

FAQ
Are we sponsored by brand? No Our motivation is building quads as a sport
and if fuel and help the winning Quad, we as agroup will feel as if we won too.
Is my quad good enough? scruniteering can be tough but its rough track I had weld many frames after Finke . Just about all quads built today will make it in standard trim. (Chinese bike forget it)
Bring some luck! Finke can be cruel even some the big factory teams don't make it to the second corner .

Is there room for 1 more?
I've only dreamed of doing the Finke , so if you guy's are offering assistance , Count me in + 1 support .
Any other Qlder's going next year, c'mon guy's you know you wanna,
this is a exellent opportunity for friendly support .
Few more Questions, is the March prologue essential /necessary or just good to do
Should I take spare quad? |

Guys I booked 8 rooms with 4 bunk beds self contained and 2 family rooms at this stage Heavitree Gap resort They have a bus bay where we can work on our bikes if need be . Security is ok but no lockable gate though .
So the cost is $20 per person per night From Thur til check out on Tuesday
The showers are good there and its close to the track.

I would not recomend the stock front as they are only 2 ply you are best to go for a 6 ply tire. There are alot of rocky outcrops that you will hit at speed thats why you need 6 ply.
Hey Goat we stay at the Mac Ranges Park next door so we will have to catch up for a beer or 20 _________________ Smitty |
