Thanks for all the feedback guys. Unfortunately we missed out on the property we had our hearts set on due to issues with the sale of our house here. We were lucky enough to stumble on this property however which is a lot larger and still within our price range. We hope to have this finalised and settled next month. The property is 430 acres approx. with 140 acres of that untouched bushland. The remaining is open undulating land with scattered stands of gums. The large stand of trees at the top of the hill adjoins the neighbouring state forest. We plan to put two portable units on the block in the new year and expect to be able accomodate up to 12 people. All forum members welcome once we are up and running.

WooHoo, about time someone did this. Where abouts is this latest one your looking at?

Sounds awesome, is the 430 acres still near Nagambie?
I'm sure forum members would throw a few bucks a ride,a good way to cover your rates.

Pete,
The 430 acres is in Barkly which is about 1 hour North of Ballarat through Avoca. It is expected to settle toward the end of January. We have visited the block twice since Christmas and noted some very challenging terrain on the block itself with lots of gullies and some nasty hill climbs. I will post some more photos this week. We still haven't worked out the shortest route to the state forest yet as my wife's Toyota Echo makes exploration of the surrounding area a little difficult. We will keep everybody updated for when it will be available for use.

There was a heap of these giant mice on the block when we were there last week. I am going to have to make sure we lock up the cheese.
