I thought with all the restorations and rebuilds going on at the moment we should have a "Before and After" thread,so im going to kick it off with my tired 1985 250R and its 2 rebuilds.OK lets see some more !
19/6/05 85 R needing some TLC.

Rebuild No1 converted to black short track HRC look.
Rebuild No2,all white motif with Clarke tank and Maier plastics.

heres my 85R,hasnt been restored yet but it does look a bit different Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy ....
hopefully im tearing it down in winter to get the frame powdercoated and some new plastics and get the motor rebuilt Very Happy

Since the photos were taken I have found a brand new on/off switch, grey throttle cable and grey hand brake cable.

My neighbour in adelaide had a 70 just like it pre-resto, they might still have it. They had a double block which we used to kane around on it most weekends as 10-12 yo. Fun little bike when we could get it started

i wish i had a pic to show of the piece of crap i started with that i bought for $1600 but digital cameras were not invented then. Anyhow many breakages, blow ups and many many dollars later i decided this thing needed to look a bit like the money i had poored into it so it got its first extreme makeover and came out like this.


Then quite a few more blow ups, breakdowns and dollars later it ended up like this.


And at the moment for some unknown reason its looking like this eek eek eek

Yep! with a supercharged 13B, celica 5 speed, Narrowed ford diff, mini tubs to fit the 15x9 genuine boydds bilet wheels and $9500 worth of paint. Should of been finished 10 years ago (no really 10 years ago, its been painted for 13!) but i bought a trike Rolls eyes Rolls eyes Rolls eyes Rolls eyes Evil or Very Mad
