very heavy, doesn't look like the kind of chassis that should have 48hp either. If they are being marketed as a sport quad maybe they should have sport tyres on them and not mud claws. _________________

Dinli DMX450 made its Australian race debut on Sunday Sept 3rd at Renmark S.A. in the DRCC 3hr pony express, finished the 3 hr with only one small little coolant issue with the one way valve, everything else held up exellent,on one of the roughest enduro loops you could throw any quad at. DMX 450 was run nearly in bone stock form other then aftermarket front shocks, powermadd hand guards, plug ends and kill switch, DMX450 comes out stock with kenda dominator tyres all round, not like in picture on link to Dinli,as pic is of the prototype DMX450.
Engine is a double overhead cam 448cc Fuji motor ,really strong built frame, bone stock form good trail quad, make quad lighter, fit alloy wheels (factory has them) fit alloy front bumper and take off other bits will bring weight down.Change out stock shocks and fit aftermarket shocks for better handling and to soak up the big hits , handles very well with stock shockers. One awsum quad and very exellent value for money, very well built Atv.Im very impressed with this quad. _________________ try it before you judge it. |

i am still not convinced
glad you like them i still think they are no competition for a known brand quad on a mx or any style of race track for that matter as the known brands eg. yam , suz , honda and kawi have all done their research plus have the history
you didnt state where it finished compared to known brand quads at the event....
maybe a good option for someone on a budget but what is the back up service and parts like for example? _________________ black covered in 5.7 powered oversize quad

Does it matter where the bike finished ,i had not raced for a year and i chose to contest the ironman and did the 3 hr race and 1st time out for the Dinli DMX450,finished ,but a very well known brand didnt finish as it broke down, service from Dinli Australia is excellent ,very nice people, parts not a problem all it takes is a phone call,Dinli has been around since 1983.
Dinli started research and development on all-terrian vehicles (ATVs), in January 1996 and began mass-producing them in March 1999.
In 2002 they produced 40,000 ATVs for the world-wide market.

you never know who makes what part or quad for who eg Aeon make some models under license for Polaris, refer atv action issue 3,page 71 _________________ try it before you judge it. |

I'm with you ther Brad.
Finishing one race does'nt prove much, I would expect any model with reasonably low hours to last a 3hr enduro, especially if it was a stock engine.
If you reaaly want to push these quads here maybe a few well placed test models around the country for people to see and ride. _________________

you rode in a 3hr enduro with problems (be it big or little)
two 700 raptors were ridden across the country and there were no problems with either, and that was after a significabt crash on one of them only weeks before they left........
that is a good way to prove somethings reliability, especially with a name like dinli |

i seen the dinli in action at the riverland enduro, it perfprmed pretty damn well for a stocker, well known brands have huge probs as well.eg. 450 suzi snapping linkage.shouldnt happen after all testing on gust's race quads... the dinli has a strong frame and good finnish and good price tag for some one who isnt on big bickies to get into the sport...and the more people who can get started and enjoy riding quads has to be a good thing. _________________ Wilco65

Well, they could always give me one to test in MX since I got rid of the banshee I have got nothing to race. They do look alright, I thought it may be suited more for trails. _________________ Glenn

Same motor as Polaris Predetor 500 with 450 top end, hope this answers a few of you re engine , re frame, how many times i have read re ,suzuki yam etc recalls, gusset frames, only have to take one look in tech section on this forum site and ppl asken for help for jap bikes , seems there are knockers who have not seen the bike in the flesh or have ridden it, issue with coolant, hey i know polaris can have same problem,i dont knock the jap bikes owned em before, maybe a few ppl need to read the DINLI site .
Remember Yamaha have only been around for 50 yrs and they started out making pianos hense the tunning fork emblem, everyone has to start some where.
All Dinli Australia did was put 1 up for sale on here, and ppl start bagging it from word go, and after watching this forum site for months now, seems there is a few on here just like to bag ppl,now started on product, i feel for Len with the crap that is put in print on this site about him.
How many sports quads come out stock with braided brake lines all round, billet alloy hubs and from factory proper mounting system for nerfbars
ps they are not cheap junk .

Steady on boys, all as Dinli wanted to do was advetise a Quad fo sale not have it ridiculed.
Unfortunatley most things made in Taiwan normally have a short lifespan and obviously this is the perception others are having with Dinli quads. A test in ATV action certainly may change some peoples attitudes.
But I'm with wilco65, the more people we can get on quads the better, and not everyone can afford the $12000 price tag, the norm for most sports model. _________________ Yes i am a farmer, and NO that doesn't make me stupid, just MAD! KTM 505sx, the chicken splitter |

how much do they cost? and I wasnt bagging them, I was just saying that I cant find much info. But as stated, more quad riders the better! I for one cannot afford $12000 for a new quad! _________________ Glenn

I believe Dinli are looking for riders to take on race plans. I saw the race plan deal and it looks pretty damn good. I won't post the figure, but if you are keen, give them a call.

JB
u said it Taiwanese mate i seen how many of my mates have them fast 50's with cheapo taiwanese motors
and as for australian sounds bad when u say taiwan dont it i am not bagging
as for the braided lines stock and stuff
well how many race quads come out without piggy back shocks these days?
all quads have little bits of bling and goods to sell the product
as for brake lines and factory billet stuff well i wont even bother as they arent over expencive parts to put on a quad anyway compared to shocks and a arms plus after market parts you can buy for jap bikes are readily available for mx or most other types of quad racing
another quote i dont trust is the 48 HP max
stock can i see proof of that claim please?
i dont have a prob with selling something just how can ppl come on here and sell a quad saying it is a proven race machine after one event?
like how len distrusted the zooks were any good when they first appeared now look at em ?
dont see len take back on it though
but if these are or when they race prove them self i will take back all i said until then i am not sold on them
sorry JB and anyone else that has a diff opinion _________________ black covered in 5.7 powered oversize quad

before anyone ridicules product they should research their facts
did you guys know that honda has some components manufactured in brazil?
some toyota hilux models are made in thailand?
many japanese brand products including small engine manufacturers and m/cycle manufacturers have components made in either china or taiwan. i personally have fitted front forks, pistons, barrels, rings, timing chains, cylinder heads, valves and springs, etc from chinese made bikes parts supplies to yamaha and honda products. i have also supplied a 125 4 stroke chinese manufactured engine to be fitted to a junior speedway solo. that engine has done two seasons on the same piston and only had rings and valve springs changed at the start of it's second season as a precautionary measure not via necessity. while it's true that some chinese/taiwanese product is of poor standard it's not the case for all manufacturers from these countries. i am not a dinli dealer in fact they are my competition but i would not be so bold to condemn their product
i think perhaps that dinli may become a force to be reckoned with in the future as they learn from experience in the field and improve with future models. how many times do you hear of re-calls of product from even the most seasoned manufacturers? remain open minded as one day you may be eating your words |
