Will it be held at Briant Park Smithton ?
Just looked on google maps looks like a MX track next to the kart complex

Maybe its run by circular head motorcycle club ?

I would like to take the KFX for a look.

I will see what I can find out.

I have spoken with a fair few riders that are not going due to the expense of it being in Tas, hopefully there will still be a good turnout but i think numbers will be down a fair bit on the last few Nationals.

No where they are coming from ! the savings of not going will pay for the 2009 race season budget for us. Still looking at it though, but it def wont be a family trip.

We had 12, with each day that passes by, the numbers have now dropped to 7, we need 3 more Quads from NSW to make the shipping container prices stay low otherwise its a snowball effect, that 7 wont be able to afford, as each person pulls out the price goes up, then we need to make other arrangements if possible. I wouldnt expect too many from NSW ! Mad

PostPosted: Sun Sep 14, 2008 2:07 pm Post subject: cmon people make an effort Reply with quote Back to top

Reading through posts it appears alot of potential riders are not going to Tasmania for diffrent reasons
I am not going to be popular in what i have to say but i think it needs to be said
So to those that this post may concern, make an effort to get to Tasmania
If you are a reasonibly good rider then you should be there. Out of all events for the year this should be up there. It is a grand final if you like.
All the best will be there and to be the best you must race the best and this would help you to become better
its the whole big fish in little pond to little fish in big pond situation.

Now it would be said that money to get to an event is the main factor, so as this is anounced a year in advance then plan to get there. If someone wants to achieve something, then you can make it happen. What ever it takes. We get to much in our own comfort zone that we dont want to make an effort. Call to local business, knock on doors to see what help you can get.

You can never turn back time so as a moment pases you will never get it back. Should have, could have, would have just doesnt cut it

If this post hits some nerves like i think it could then good, it just may make people think and make the effort

I am not trying to stir the pot unless it helps get people motivated and get to this event, but as the quad scene is very small and hard to get recognition, i wouldnt like to see any main quad event be a flop
The last 2 national events have been a success and this should continue so the whole sport in Australia can continue to grow, as opposed to events not working and organisers saying, what the hell last time no one supported it so why bother. This is a sure way to kill off or at least injure a sport

I am sure this event will still be great for those attending

Anyway thats just my opinion, right or wrong, but someone had to say it

Mate where were you people when we were screaming for information? Now its to late ! nobody is going except for the people who chose not to go to other events. Don't worry I have booked on the boat and accommodation which I will cancel tomorrow. The new Guy at MA Sam Ryan and won't concede on dates and deadlines and benchmarks so be greatful that you got the Nationals for I know NT will never get them. So don't whinge. We chose the Sarfari in front of the Nationals because any rec rider can do . you don't need a wiss bang quad. The ultimate Adventure. You need to serious about putting a event on. It seems like a after though now. yes put your money where your mouth is . organise some sponsors and put the best of the best on the grid. don't whinge at people because they choose another event for 98% of quad riders can only afford one event a year. I know really fast riders that will only ride Finke

just a point i would like to make known is Jye Stokes of Tassy made the trip from tas to vic for titles ( and he did tassy proud he rode awesome ) ............ where were other tassy entrants?? and you expect vic guys to make the trip there for nats?? how many tas entrants made the trip to vic last year for nats??/

seems one sided when it isnt your money that it will be costing and i agree with husky as not everyone can afford to do every event but who from tassy done a event outside of tassy will those tas riders come to mainlaind next year for nats?? will be interesting to see

too all who are making the trip good luck and have a awesome time

we won't be going, and although money is a major reason, it's not the only one. (several other logistical difficulties unfortunately)
however as bethwyn said the money to go to tassie for us would, finance the 09 season of mx .
good luck to all that can get there however, and i hope the host club prospers from it too. we will be envious of you all

The point is as far as I CAN READ is if your going your going, if your not your not, is not from lack of information as we have all been on forums and read all to know that is was being held in Smithton and we all had time to work out whether we were going or not. Those people that have put their hand up to run this event ARE THE ONLY ONES that put thier hand up as no other state nominated - it doesn't matter that the riders have not come to events it matters that SOME-ONE has actually put their hand up to run this event, if they didn't there wouldn't have been a National this year.

2009 was re-opened as only ONE club nominated (the same club that is holding this years). So lets see how many NOW have nominated with the RE-OPENING of the 2009 championship which closed September 2nd 2008.

Support the sport and support the people putting thier necks out to put on these events otherwise we wont have any.
