yea i guess.
technicaly we finished 3rd to last as 1 team got scared, and the other team kept crashing into trees.
if you consider the refeuling and change over my last lap would near be a 40:00 min lap. not bad for a 250kg bike with a 115kg rider.
most of the young guys on the canam's etc wouldnt weigh 250kg bike and rider.
the old kwaka had plenty on the straights, with only the canam 450's being able to pass me due to there taller gearing. most of the other breeds were easy to overtake even in the soft stuff out in the stubble.
but the whoops were nasty.
great bike fella.
love it.

Sounds like it was an awesome event. Well done Mick and all that raced it.

Just looking at the ironman time sheets, didn't Paul Worth get the fastest lap time though with 31:11 for lap 1, followed by Daryl Watson 31:24. These boys must of been hooting.

No Luddy, Worthy, Daryl and Smitty went the wrong way in their first lap, which is why their time penalties are there. Complicated, but all who were involved were happy with the outcome before the decision was made. Their first lap times were altered to be equal to their fastest true lap time of the day.
By the way, a special thankyou to Froggy and Scooter for all the help they gave us over the weekend and especially for the pack up at the end of the event, to Pottsy for chauffering around the head of the Australasian Safari in the Mule all Sunday, and Noodles, who intended on doing nothing all weekend, but ended up working the whole time. I owe you a vanilla slice.

Just want to say a big thanks to Mick and Tiff on a very well run event. Was awsome to be involved and hope to attend the future events. Everyone i spoke to had a great time as did i. Well done to all the riders and pit crews. Very minimal injuries (which is always good) although i did see a few with fairly major blisters. Good luck!
Pleasure to help out Mick.

Wicked event guys.
Big thanks to the broader Andrewartha family, because I know Mick and Tiff didn't put much effort into selling shoes for the month leading up to the event.
Thanks to Can-Am for their keen support and well done 47.

What an amazing race.
It had every terrain and all the weather conditions.
All the riders were terrific and I only wish I got of my arse to get around and meet more of you.

Yogie, while I didn't really get to meet you that well... I'm sure that from now on, I'd recognise the plumbers crack anywhere.

The lap score ladies and all the officials did a top job.

Bugger it 11 out of 10 for everyone.

Big thanks to Adam from Quad Squad who put a tonne of work into fully preparing and detuned my Renegade 800X, then took it to the event and back for me.

Well done to Daryl Watson for taking out the first one.
You did it in style, no major damage and landed a thousand bucks with a baby just around the corner.
Couldn't have happened to a nicer bloke.

Now I've gotta go and blow my bit of prize money at Austraco.

Yuck!

Anyway, sounds like you guys had a great time. Maybe if my wife can hold off having another baby (can't keep her hands off me, but who can blame her Laughing ) I can make it to the next one.

Hi All, Tiff here,

I am an OzATV newbie.

Thankyou to all of you for your kind words.

I have just had one of the greatest weekends ever. It was so great to meet so many of you, if I didn't get around to meet any of you I am really sorry, I really tried.

Jesse, James and I (I won't speak for Mike) had a great time, and thanks to everyone that helped out you are all so selfless. The Quad community is very much based on comraderie and I think that this was so clearly evident this weekend.

Congratulations must go to all of the podium finishers, but I would also like to thank all of the riders that could not compete the event but stayed to support, go out as outriders or sign on as volunteers for anything that needed to be done. Without all of you this event would not have been possible.

Thanks also to all of you that have said such complimentary things on this forum, please keep in mind that we all made the event. Mike, Steve Wagner ( Mildura local and all out legend) and Frank Ryan (property owner) may have made it possible but without such a great group of people it could not have been the weekend that it was.

I have met some great people and look forward to seeing all of you soon, must admit I have spoken to quite a few of you today!!!

A special mention must go out to Trudy, Terry and Amanda, I had a great time with you girls this weekend, lap scoring has never been so much fun.

Goodluck to you all with drying everything out.

Tiff (aka the organised lackie of 47)

Hi Tiff ( and Mick)

Have just finished cleaning bus and I am on my 7th load of washing, I can now see a light at the end of the tunnel but think I have another 5 loads at least and its raining !!!! red mud - hmmm Mad

I would like to thank you guys for giving me the opportunity to be involved in such a great event. Having never done a enduro type event before I learnt alot and yes lap scoring is fun.
It was also great to meet people that I only know as their nick names on the forum.
Also to see the quad community help each other out in times of despair was amazing. In particular when my son Mitch thought he was out due to a ripped tyre, the yamaha team threw a tyre at him so he could continue. We are so grateful to these guys. Then the Wade family who had their own bad luck helped change the tyre along with Mick and Nick. Where else would this happen.

I think anyone who entered and rode the track should be proud of themselves whether they finished or not because it was all amazing. Rob had an absoulute ball riding with Rick. laughing

The kids coaching course with Rod Jenner was also great - I know my kids ( even Cooper eek ) learnt heaps.

You have helped the sport heaps and the Quad racing is growing in leaps and bounds which is just fantastic.
We will definatley be back and I would be proud to be part of your team again if you require.

thanks once again for a fantastic weekend ( but not thanks for all the washing Razz )
Cheers
Trud

This thing was awesome. Too bad that on the first day my chain kept jumping off and i cracked the swingarm but luckily I didn't have too far to go home. So we went home and Dad stayed up until about 11 welding and angle grinding so the swingarm wouldn't flex and crack and a thing so the chain wouldn't jump off. Then when we got back on sunday the chain keeper knocked the joining link out so I had no chain. So a HUGE thanks to Mick for that chain or otherwise I would have been screwed. eek eek Well done on a great event. Very Happy

Well this thumb pump thing was my first time in the racing game, and one thing I learnt was “fitness, fitness, fitness. Where do buy it from, I want half a dozen of them.
The track was the hardest thing I’ve ever done, oh and Mick you were wrong, it has 42.5 K’s of whoops, not 7 K’s but more about those later.

The rotten bloody track, was looking real good the first time till just after the 20K mark, then the misery started, which only got worse after the 30K mark with whoop section and the whole track was flogged out come Sunday, even the straights weren’t so much fun. Noticed a few trees had been hit, and not by me, so I’ll gladly pass that mantle on to some one else. Very Happy One thing though I slowed down to see if a chap was okay, then finding out he had a puncture just to past me later on, that did my self confidence heaps Mad . Another quad was bogged in the sand on a lousy looking bend, helped her out and lost a few minutes, which made no difference to my times, cant take the trail rider out boy no matter what Wink The one thing I hated was the bloody dust. And the bloody rain after it had finished…

High lights: having a red hot go, knowing I was doomed from the start Very Happy . The little bit of rain we had. Being around everyone focused on having a great time. Some great riding, thanks Big Bird for the advice, treat it like a trail ride without stopping.

Was great to catch up on some of the old faces from the trail riding days from the QRCV, Big bird, Woody01, Bumblebee, LB, baja600, and to meet some faces to names here on the forum, Feral Kid, go hard mate, you rock. Scooter, the AVO is on the way; the line is drawn in the sand or was that dust. Smitty bit of bad luck old son. Was great to meet Husky Goat, VJrose, and your family. I have that photo of stuffing your face, will save that for another day... Wink

And finally a very special thanks to Steve and Jodie for getting me that belt, in no time flat and for Steve for sticking it on for in two minutes, I said I was going head down with a beer but I didn’t, sorry chap… Sad Saturday night I couldn’t really move to much to be honest.
And Dangerman 4 well if you didn’t get a higher place, at least you know what to expect next year. Thanks for all your help and for looking after the bike for me, 10/10 bloke.

I will be back there for sure next year, even if i just do boundry riding... Wink

It apears that Yogie is not the only great guy out there in quad land.
I just checked with him and it was not him that pushed MrsBullet out of a bog in the sand dunes on the second lap of day one.

We think we are looking for No. 53 Matt Tisdal on a Kwaka.
MrsBullet ran around camp Saturday night looking for you to say 'thanks'.
Lisa cleared 10 seconds for you with the dynamic trio (lap score ladies) but we couldn't find you.

Thanks Buddy
hit us up for a beer at the next one. Smile

totally diff displines Quad
tp300 is a endurance race
mx is more quicks speed and some timing skills over a short time

but having said that it does some alot of the mx guys did fair better then some of the endurance guys in tp does that say that some of the mx guys are alot fitter then alot think they are???
