looking for advice
I have a neighbour who has had the pleasure of living next to me for the last 5 years.... I used to say hello when I saw him but he always ignored me. for the 1st 3yrs he and his children screamed abuse at each other on regular prolonged basis. the female has since moved out and the abuse is now less XXXrated. Balls were always flying over and I always sent them back, however none of my kids balls ever came back.
He whinged about a tree - so my land lady cut one down. whinged about another until it was pointed out that tree was on his side of the fence
he found my friend's (who lives on the other side of him) cat dead in his yard so he reported in to counsel claiming my dogs were responsible - the council stated that it was not my dogs but another two which had been impounded and destroyed (normally a loose dog costs you $240 fine) - they requested he dispose of the body in the bin which collection was that day. Despite this he wrapped the cat in a black garbo bag and chucked it in my yard. then he went over the following day and told my friend - that my dogs killed her cat so he put it in my yard so I could take responsibility for my actions. My friend rang me extremely upset - as her family cat had been with them for 13yrs and she wish for me to ID it for her. I had to admit that yes I had found a smelly garbo bag in my yard but had not opened it but just placed in the bin. I invited her to examine it however I would not be watching as the smell was powerful and my bin was in the sun.... She was not happy re the garbo bag and rang back later stating she did not want to id the smell. It stayed in the bin til next bin day (4 days later)
then he complained about my 2 dogs barking at drunks on the street at night. then I was in hospital he complained to counsel that I wasn't home controlling my dogs... so he has complained again and again - 6 calls to counsel in the last 2 weeks.... this morning they barked for 180 seconds at 02:32 so he complained again. The counsel fella now is on first name basis and always asks how I am recovering and he doesn't know what will make my neighbor happy short of moving.
Through all this I have turned the other cheek and not said a word- but I am starting to feel that I am close to my limit of patients.
Whats your thoughts/suggestions??? _________________ Family is most important.... next is our quads |

tie lead sinkers onto bits of string and tie the bits of string to cane toads, then throw the toads on his roof
make a bit of noise when they jump around then when they die they stink _________________ 04 yfz450 |

What a b#####d. I would end up doing something that would end up getting me in trouble so don't do that. I think the cane toad idea sounds good though. _________________ "If in doubt go flat out"

there's only one answer and it has two barrels, is loaded with 12 guage cartridges and is probably made by smith and wesson.
but then there's always the more acceptable method of engaging your local underbelly types to do your work for you |

We did that with sample packs of Dynamo Liquid Laundry detergent that were delivered around the neighbourhood when I was in high school. _________________ 10 LTR 555 Dingo

I don't know if your serious in wanting real advice, but if you are I would do the above. He sounds like a real sh!t head, but it's not worth it stooping to his level. It probably p!sses him off that you are not retaliating so just keep doing it. _________________ Don't close your eyes during the crash, you'll miss the best part |

well I sort of wanted to know if normal neighbors are like this. the other side party most nights but don't give me any grief about the dogs.
the other suggestions have been great for laughter therapy (following my off = 10 day hospital resort stay, my dad passing away last fri night and my loving neighbor constantly prompting the council to call me) so keep them coming.... _________________ Family is most important.... next is our quads |

At my current place my neighbours are all your typical suburbanites and very easy to get along with. I have had a neighbour like yours at one time and I just ignored him. Like I said before, I think that irritated more than if I retaliated.

Sorry to hear about your dad. I am pretty lucky here where i live. My neighbours on each side are atleast 500m away on both sides so don't get anytrouble from them. It is all good. _________________ "If in doubt go flat out"

| I had the same sort of thing with my neighbour complained to the council that many times about my dog barking that it wasnt funny even had him and the animal control officer sited in my yard trying to catch my dog when no one was home and that was after the council made put a new fence (cost me over $2000) because he complained then he complained three times in 2 day about barking so i tried three different barking collars (even an electric shock one) and he still complained so when i got a notice that they were going to take my dog awawy i made the 800km trip home from work went and spoke to neighbours all around us and they said that they didnt even know that i had a dog one neighbour even said that they had complained about his kids making to much noise playing in there own yard so i wrote a letter to the council telling them all this then nothing for a while then the complaints started again so i gave him somthing to complain about ahd a big party and was on my way to his front lawn on my ltr but got stopped in my driveway by my girlfiend in the end sold my house and moved away PROBLEM SOLVED |

haha
I don't keep my bikes at home - too many drunk itinerants roaming the streets at all hours checking if your gates are locked and dogs are doing their job.... and it's is one of the better parts of Darwin... for those who have yet to tour our grand city - nearly everyone has 5ft-8ft high fences around their yards - many covered in black weed mat- we asked the real estate why when we first arrived who replied- "people gain more use of their yard that way"
Obviously the lifestyle benefits up here out weigh these issues...
but to follow up - Mr 66 was not satisfied with councils action so he has restarted the whole process again with another regulation officer at the same council but once again they have told him to keep a diary which he does not wish to do
I have not retaliated as I don't have the time for a neighborhood war. Apparently he doesn't complain about the other dogs in the area barking
Thought about moving but my landlady does not want that either.
however starting to seriously consider inviting a great fella (on this forum) from down south I met up with a finke to remedy the situation like he offered... _________________ Family is most important.... next is our quads |
