yeh ash they dont usually lie that far forward but with enough patience and head scration anythings possible lol ive heard youve had ur fair share of laying 200x's motors down.It really is an 84 250r engine the write up of it is at 3ww world.com
pc: not enough time really all i wanted to do tonight is sit in tha shed and build more of it (ive got the bug back lol)but promised tha boys id go watch tha fight tonight at tha rsl so im only just gettin home now i stayed back at work this arvo and finished welding tha pipe like i said all i have to do now is fab some foot pegs and put carb elecs and stuff back on this motor absolutely hammers ay i had it in tha 70 frame but yeh was just way to much it handled just like a 70 until about half throttle and it would just start gettin hectic lol now hopefully with a 250r front end good swing arm and abit of suspension i might be able to get a few more than 5 laps without arm pump trying to hold on to it lol theres actually a video of it on you tube its only just runing it in the back yard but it does prove it runs and was a in a 70 frame for those who still dont belive lol |

Looks like that GMC chainsaw got a bit of a workout with all the choppin and changin goin on here!
Good work again Mart. In this frame it almost looks like you could cut up the motor again and stand it back up! _________________

cool.
be careful with the yz490 motors they notoriously hard to jet and get set up right.
they say that they have inherent design flaws in the porting specs and the combustion chamber design. to stop it from detonating you have to jet it so rich it runs like a pig, if you lean it out to get it running strong itll detonate and over heat and seize up and all kinds of wondourous things!
you look like a man of action though so you could probably get in and fix those issues with that motor, eg with some careful porting and a machined head.
the yz465 motors are said to be alot better. apparenlty back in the day blokes used to swap their 490 top ends for the older 465 top end and be much happier. i think they are harder to find though.
