We have organised a container to send bikes down & back.
We have just broken into a second container & are looking for more people to fill it.
Cost is $650.00 per bike.
Container will be delivered to Smithton track a few days before racing & picked up from the track on the Monday or Tuesday.
Container leaves & returns to Salt Ash in Port Stephens.
12 bikes in each container + tool boxes + gear bags + tents + empty fuel cans + anything else you need to toss in.
Nerfs will need to come off to fit bikes together.
First in best dressed.
Call Paul on 02 4982 6694.

$650 per bike thats dear. If you live in Victoria you can come across on the boat heaps cheaper than that. You can bring a van with your 4 wheeler inside return for under $350.

I know you might live in Tassie but i think you are a bit behind the 8 ball with $350 bucks, $650 bucks is cheap considering around a min $2000 to get from Newcastle to smithton and back with a car trailier, petrol, food, time etc etc.

I reckon it will cost me about $2500 to stick my truck and trailer on the boat, that's with out the fuel to get it there and back, but I'm looking forward to racing in Tassie for the first time and I hope as many people as possible support the event and it is a great success

That's what started the whole container idea. There are a few people up here that wanted to go, but couldn't aford to do it.
I think $650 for bike & gear, plus your plane tickets & accommodation makes it a lot better option.

I could get from Newcastle to Smithton cheaper than $650. I know a trailer costs more but a van which a 4 wheeler will fit in is the same price as a van. I have done it heaps of times. Plus if you have your own van u can have a look round tassie while u are here. Only costs from the boat in tassie to Smithton in fuel return about $100.

Yep. We need to get the quads to interlock.
just drop the nerfs off, stick your number on them & they will go into the container with all of the other gear.

Approx $9000 for us from WA - without airfares for riders yet.

Lucky our trailer is double decker with 10 quads - just hope the effie can get us there.

What if you load the bikes standing up? You will not need to remove the nurfs and will fit a whole lot more than 12 in ... :s

Thought about that, but we wanted to be able to use the container for a lock up as well. Would be a bugger to have to stand them up again after a days racing.

Give Paul a call on 02 4982 6694. He's the guy that owns the container.
