Howdy....

Can anyone give me some recommendations on tuning shops for quads in North Western Sydney? I've reached the limits of my (very) limited knowledge and need to find someone that can help me try an tune my baby right.

I've been taking my quad to Frettens Bike shop in Blacktown, known as Team Moto, but they cant get it right.

She starts spluttering and missing when pushed at top revs in any gear and similar when at low revs and low gear.

Its not bad when you give it smooth throttle, but when you start pushing it a little harder, she goes into gargle mode.

So if you know anyone, please let me know.

Try explosive racing peakhurst he will throw it on the dyno and work it out for you!

Do you want to try and diagnose it yourself?

If yes, you've got to be a bit more helpful here with the info.

What year?
Is it stock?
If not, what mods (pipe, no lid, hi flow filter, etc....)?
Have Team Moto re-jetted it? If yes, what sizes?

Thanx for your responses, I'll have a chat with the peakhurst boys.

As for the details, they are:

2006 model

It's stock bar the filter being K&N. There was a pipe on it before but I changed it back to stock, cause where I ride I dont want to bring too much attention to myself and other pipe with seriously LOUD. I can also say that with the other pipe it was actually running worse than it is now with the stock pipe.

No re-jetting done on it.

I'm sure its a basic tuning issue, because she idles really smoothly, always starts either first or second go, and doesnt smoke up.

Went and seen Explosive Racing today, some nice quads sitting in his workshop.

The guy has got some serious knowledge, almost all of it above my head, and he was so damn helpfull.

Looks like I need to get it rejetted and get a new muffler, will be getting it done next week by him.

likewise mine hasnt missed a beats since he rebuilt it for me and it flies now!

Are you from around the blacktown area? Where do you ride jezza?
