Mick I have done some work on the calender . Qld seem to have plenty on around that time. NT probably won't be there as we are going to USA that weekend to watch Blake race. _________________ Truth and Honor and Trust ... never under estimate Them. |

Don't be sorry mick. you'll miss out on a few riders and if the Qld calender is right they have two events on that weekend you probally won't get many locals either.
I would have though Qld titles and TP would be a week after each other so people who travel two week away gig. and the event on the second weekend gets heaps of helpers for the week. _________________ Truth and Honor and Trust ... never under estimate Them. |

Mate, in a perfect world we would have done that, but it is hard for me to run an event and be at work on the same weekend, and that time of year is pretty crazy for me. How about you put together a couple of dates in the year that you think would be ideal and I will see if any of them are workable.

Don't go changing for us . I will look at it . The way I see it . Its the locals that will get the numbers there. Probably 40-50 hardcore that will travel for sponsors. I don't know the guys in Qld have they got a state round penciled in?
Maybe a 1 hour optional sprint race on Sat arvo on a shorten main track. call it a dash for cash if you like. Just a little more ride time and bragging rights.
Why is one week not enough between events? down south Work?
TP Qld
QLD MX
VIC MX
Aussie titles
For riders that travel our machinery will go to the next race. ( not home again) I'm sure that riders in our community would appricate the cost of travel. And I would cancel events in NT to make this work.
Food for thought How big would QLD and VIC titles be then? _________________ Truth and Honor and Trust ... never under estimate Them. |

Working on it mate.
The first one will either be Redcliffs (Mildura) or possibly just out of Swan Hill. Properties are getting harder and harder to find down here, especially good ones.

hey mick,
yeah 4 rounds with the 5th bein the qld titles there will be a series winner and a qld tittles winner, dates arn't confirmed yet for the tittles, we where goin to run on the 22/23rd of aug but unfortunatly things prevent this date from happening so we have pushed it back now to the end of oct..... will this be a problem for many people _________________ TRESPASSERS WILL BE SHOT....SURVIVERS WILL BE SHOT AGAIN..

i can't see a problem with the state titles being late october.
as you know it is going to be hard for alot of riders from outside Qld to commit to the distances of travel for the 4 rounds of the Series you are holding, but i am sure there would be some good following of the Qld titles if it is in late october considering the nationals are in september in SA. once the nationals are over there isn't much racing going on normally, and at this stage it is only the TP in NSW if it goes ahead. _________________ 2012 sponsors, Working on it. |

We scouted the new track for the Thumb Pump 300 yesterday. 45 digrees isn't the best temperature for wandering around in the Mallee, but the new track is awsome. Lots of long straight sandy sections, winding trails through the scrub, as well as a couple of road sections. The distance of this track should be a bit longer than last year, and as it is a fresh track, the whoops will be minimal until later in the event. The track is in NSW, just 10km from Mildura. Plenty of accomodation nearby for those too scared to camp (sorry Donkey Boy) and a great pub within 5km (you're welcome Smitty). I will be putting up some video footage in the next few days so you can see what you will be in for.

Possibly not for the first round, depending on how they are coming along convincing MNSW to allow juniors. I did hear they were getting close. It would be a shame for them not to race. The track would be great for the bigger juniors. If we cannot run them, we may look at a coaching option for the 200/300 juniors on the full track. Actual coaching on a propper senior enduro track. It is the best way to prepare them for the later Thumb Pump Offroad events without being competitive.

Might have to do that coaching again then. Is it going to be at Tapio or something? _________________ "If in doubt go flat out"

Yeah I think thats where it is then. You turn right at the round about in Gol Gol and go out for a few kays on the Wentworth road and then its another right. If its where I think it will be. Anyway wherever it is I'll be there. _________________ "If in doubt go flat out"

I had a lengthy conversation with MNSW today. They do not allow one event licenses at events if there is prize money. I had to make a decision. No one event licenses or no $10,000 prize money. I went with no events in NSW. The property we are working with now is in SA at the base of the Flinders Ranges, 1½ hrs North East of Adelaide. Very exclusive property that only allows 2 events there each year. 24hr trials and now, Thumb Pump. I am scouting the track this Saturday and will post some pics next week if all goes well. This way we will have one event licenses, $10,000 prize money and a 200 2 stroke/300 4 stroke junior class. Sorry for the mess around everyone, but decent properties big enough for a ½ hr loop are getting hard to find.
