 |
|
Hi , i have been looking at running an enduro in conjunction with the "NQ offroad racing clubs " NQORA . The format would be 8 to 12 km laps , x 4 to 6 . 1 bike at a time , 1 min gap . On a sunday ( day 2 of the NQORA event) at either Towns or Burdekin tracks .
We need to find out who would be interested to see if its worth it .
Please let me know what you think ??
Also will need help with the req from MC aust/Qld to hold the event , if someone can help ?? |

Brad that sound great to me, I am sure that we can get some good numbers for that. I can't think of any enduro track around though, we used to have a PonyXpress in the burdekin years ago but I think that the property owner does not allow it any more.
Please keep me informed with any info as I would love to help to get a enduro set up here. |

Thanks , We have 2 tracks ( the rocks in burdekin and talbot park in tow ) that we use for offroad now , and are part of the process for the new motorsport parks in Townsville and Charterstwers planed for this year .
The big question for us (quad riders) is getting the bikes to the event .
I was at the Richmond enduro last year , it was the first time they ran quads , only had 6 enter , They may not ask us this year ( 10 was there breakeven point i was told ) . So we need to talk to all local riders , racer and social to see what support we can get , both with bikes to race and people to help on the day .
I am hoping the format will be good for all types of racer and for the social only guys and gals to will want to have a go . But we are open to ideas with any part of the event . |

um, dont think so, there are even fewer junior riders, i think i will probably be the only one, but im not sure. I have a friend that races in mx down there, but he is sellin his quad so i dunno if he would be interested.
By the way are these the modded quads specifically for enduro (like in the dakar) or can you just race a stock quad? |

Its just riding fast on station tracks , any social rider can do it . Its safer than most bush riding . Its you against the clock so you can go as fast or as slow as you need to to finish . Enduro is about finishing (like all racing )
All you need is the basic safty equ for racing , kill sw , nerf bars, etc and you can race ( as well as the paperwork) .
I have some old video of one of our tracks from a quad , if you give me your email i will send it to you . |

ok then, i thought it would be racing against other competitors, but i guess that doesnt matter (its safer). Are floorboards acceptable? cos i only got floorboards and i dont think i can put nerfs on my model.

for the compulsory safety gear is it: helmet, boots, body armour, jersey, race pants, goggles, gloves and a back protector (aka turtle back) ?
i got evrything except the pants, armour, back protector and boots, will that be alright or do i have to buy this stuff?
(im only too happy to buy it, cos i need an excuse to spend the money on it) |

ok, im in, (definetly), and so are my parents, so long as you have the numbers to run the classes.
Are you totally sure (if you have the numbers) that you are gonna be running a 12 to 16 yr old class with 200/250 cc quads?
I just need to get a kill switch, a couple of items of clothing and safety gear and i will be there.
I would like to know in advance though, cos i dont wanna turn up, after buying everything, then find out that i cant run.
If you could get back to me with this info that would be great,
thx, q0d |

We have approval (conditional) for racing on the sunday of the next event in June (2 weeks after Fink) of the Burdekin off road racing club . At the Rocks . The Townsville club should be ok as well for the Blackriver track (will be 2 events there) .
I am hoping to have a practice/interest day at the blackriver track in the coming months . Where we can get every one together , have a look and ride on the track , and talk about what we need to do to get racing . As we will need people to help on race day as well as riders .
So please keep this in mind . eg time keepers , check points ( 4x4 + UHF) , sweeper , etc . |
