Yep, hoping to go out spotlighting tonight for some rabbits and maybe a fox. Would like to get onto something a bit bigger though at some stage.

im a half pro fox shooter south of Adelaide, with plenty of properties to do my thing on.
couple of decent properties near Finniss full of foxes and rabbits,
up in the NT shooting camels and donkeys,
got 44 camels in 5 days couple months ago.
also got plenty of land near Pinaroo and Lameroo covered in critters.

what size rifle did you use for the deer?

www.boarsofthefarnorth.com <----iv been checking out these blokes dvd's from a mate. they do mostly doggin but they cater 4 all types of hunters. id like 2 go on a hunt in a few yrs with them as a mate of mine went last yr & i wont shut up about them, he reckons the $$$$ is well worth it & he said the average boar size is around the 100kg + mark & he said it wasnt hard finding them

just putting a few rifles on order now .22-250 4 the flat plain shooting in NSW , a .308 4 pigs in the scrub & window shopping 4 a few others

That .450 marlin looks like a real nice gun. Would kick like a horse though.

yep the 450 is a short little bitch that kicks like a shot gun on heat.
he also used a 375 H&H which is a beautiful rifle,
that throws you back a bit harder again.
and my 7mm is more of a sharp crack then a deep thud.

but there all fun.
i go fox shooting south of adelaide most weeks so if your keen pm me.
normally get between 5 and 15 foxes depending on the night.
and 10 - 30 rabbits if we can be bothered.
i normally head shot them for practice on the foxes.

Picked up the new Howa 1500 Varmint 2day. its a .22-250cal, heavy barrel. I went with a bushnell elite 6500 2.5-16 x 50. Remington bipod...taking it out either this sunday or next depending on the weather. I'll b using this puppy when i move 2 NSW on the family farm....plenty of pigs, roo's foxes , rabbits & the odd hare. Very happy with it, great rifle/scope combo...the action is very smooth & all metal parts r well finished. just have 2 get used 2 a RH rifle

Nice 22-250. I just got back from spotlighting. Only saw 3 rabbits bloody terrible. Shot the 2 that stopped and the other one all that could be seen was his whit fluffy tail bolting over the hill Mad .

thread revival time.

in oz we can hunt on private land,
unlimited amounts of

Goats,
Pigs,
Rabbits,
Foxes,
Camels,
Donkeys,
Feral Cats,
Feral Dogs,
Scrub Bulls at Ferals place.

then if you have written permission from Parks and Wildlife
you can shoot limited amounts of

Deer,
Kangaroos,
Emu's,
Possums,
Koala's.
Crocodiles maybe in certain circumstances.
Dingo's,

thants about it.
