For me I log on everything is lit up in the index, then I click on area I want to visit and nothing is lit, then I return to index and nothing is highlighted even without visiting, very frustrating, is this the same problem others are having? It never use to be like this and Im not doing anything different. Hope you can find the solution good luck. Smile

I'm having the same problem. I've found if you leave the page open or minimize to your tray you will find the new posts will stay highlighted. Pain in the ass if you turn the computer off after using it but otherwise it works ok.

As I tihnk I've indicated on here, OZATV has recently changed hosting providers.

The information for the new posts since last visit is stored in relation to your session cookies when you log in.

Unfortunately, the new server has a bug in regards to this, which I'm working on, and will resolve as soon as I can.

Patrick,

I know you have stated that you are attempting to fix this but nothing has been done. OzAtv is my favourite forum but now I can no longer enjoy it due to this issue. I feel that if there has been no fix after all this time then there probably never will be. Is it not reasonable for forum members to be able to use the site as we are the reason for this forum's success? If you’re new host can't fix the problem then why not go back to the old one before members (like me) give up and no longer visit? I would appreciate a response and would hope that you could offer an ETA on the repair.

Regards,

Greg.

Though it appears to have fallen off the radar, it's more due to the fact that the eventual solution relies on yet further new hosting for ozatv.com, which is now only another week away.

Looking through this thread, the first post times with when the site was migrated by the intermediate hosting company.

The intermediate host is where the problems are occurring - on ozatv.com it's occasional outages and glitches with the new posts cookies - but for some of my other sites, there's entire parts of the sites that have been wiped out without any avenue for simple recovery. Worse part is I can't go back to the old host - they got bought out by the intermediate host.

I feel your irritation, and I hope in turn you can feel mine as well as being patient for another few weeks while I get the new hosting up and running (a dedicated server for my clients rather than a fragmented reseller host), then begin to migrate and test OZATV.com before rolling out the fixed site.

Even as I go to post this message, the hosting server is spitting the dummy after having too many requests tonight on the site apparently.

I've just made a tweak to a setting for the site that had been effecting my other sites to do with User Session area.

It may work towards resolving the issue, so if you notice it start working (I obviously can't tell until a few more posts are made) then please post here.

Patrick,

As I said in my PM thanks for the prompt reply, hopefully your plans work out. Sadly the tweak didn't work for me but hopefully it did for others.

Regards,

Greg

To move away from the "it's not working" posts and move to the actual troubleshooting, I've started a new thread.

http://www.ozatv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=70420#70420

Please posts the specific problems you're encountering to this thread.
