Thanks Bullet
I think the thing that frustrates me the most is that i do do it for the passion and unfortuelaty i cannot write about everyone. When i do the editors take what they want and do with it what they want. I have great people like trevor and gary that are a huge support. When i write to the local papers etc they rip it apart and write what the want.
I am here for the sport and its up to the riders to do their own editorial to their sponsors not me. To cover everyone is a near impossibilty.
If people go thru my reports they would see that after each event i cover different classes with the exception of Pro class.
People must remember also that these events are club run and not open events.
Thanks for your kind words they have soothed my boiling blood. |

I don't think anyone doubts your input to our sport, or the input of those other volunteers that are usually the same people every time.
You guys do a fantastic job, and I love your events and am always happy to jump in a class.
I guess you can't blame people for not being able to see the editors 'hacking' on your event reports etc, before the media pass on the information they think is best for their publication.
But this is a public forum and now you've explained the above to those people who otherwise had no way of knowing...
It's not bitching.
I think you'll find they share a bit of your frustration.
It's healthy for people to throw their opinion out there, as quite a few reasonably well infrmed people have in this particular thread.
Some ideas might make it to the Clubs and NQAC, which is good process really.
As i think MrsG has pointed out on this frum before...
17.7.1.1 refers to 'Intermediate class' , not Expert.
Which to me suggests skill level somewhere between Club level riding and Professional level.
Intermediate is a pretty good description.
To me the words Expert and Pro mean the same thing.
But that's just such a minor point.
Huge thanks Trud, for the Van Vliet passion in our sport. |
I second that, ...
Trud personally I feel you and the crew do a fantastic job and I love running in and being part of your events .So sorry if you have taken the comments personally and in a negative way ,I certainly didn't intended to be bitchy or single people out . You are the last person in the Quad fraternity I have an issue with ! I was hoping I can ask these 2 items to be considered for next time ?
1) Can the programs and write ups drop the word "support" and still be in line with GCR's? if the answer is yes can we do this ? Do you agree it helps build up all classes in the public eye encourages racers to stay in the sport and does nothing to bring the Pro class down ? Maybe the champions today will also ride Vets or go back down to Expert/Intermediate in years to come ?
2) Can you please let the editors know for next time that KTM would like a mention in the Production Class and the racers who participate in that class .As they support /sponsor Quad racers and races in Australia.
Again thanks for everything You /QRCV /QRSA do for the sport it is much appreciated

Hi Trud,
We had a ball at Murray Bridge! Great event. Great venue. hope the Nationals are the same. I went home after a long and exhausting weekend and did a small write up regarding all the W.A. riders for our forum on waquadmx and another for KTM re Chris and Ant. I'm all for the entire quad racing scene, but I really only get time to watch my son's races, hence my write ups are predominately about the classes he enters. Every rider, parent, wife etc has the same opportunity to do the same as you or I do and forward to or post on any of the web site or forums.
More involvement and help is what will help our sport grow, not whinging. _________________ "WHEN THE STAKES ARE HIGH, GET SERIOUS, GET KTM" |

thebigdog clearly states what everyone should obviously see.
And those that are doing the promotion are doing a great job of saying what they like... for all of us.
Anyone who does not like it, should get up and 'Positively' promote the sport in their own way.
It can only add to our direction, so go for it, the more the merier. _________________ Can-Am X Team
