Hi ozquad,
Refer to rule 12.16.0.1 b) pg 102 of the 2009 manual

When you move up a class you can not go back down.

Silly rule but there it is.

Hi imagine, Well all I can say is that the rule exists and applies to all disciplines from what I read which includes quads. There doesn't appear to be anything in the Quad section that overrides this rule.

It is up to the clubs, scruitineers, referee's and stewards to enforce these rules, but remember they are volunteers they may not be aware of it. Perhaps you need to bring it to thier attention.

I have asked MSA about the determination of this rule and have been told that at closed club level events they allow it so the kids can gain experiance in a higher class, however at State or National level it is not allowed as per the rule book.
This is straight from MSA 10 minutes ago.

As said the MOMS 12.16.0.1 b) very clearly say you can not do this.
Page 38 explains the process for changing a rule.

I would imagine that this might have been agreed at a club day because the 4 year age bracket rule is not being broken.
A trial like that should be agreed by officials and riders on the day (at the very least).
And I would think any protest lodged would surely have to hold, maybe unless you had a signed letter contradicting the black and white written rule from the Commissions Manager of Motorcycling Australia.

I hope that is english ? or Kid speak or are you still in grade one. Young fella you do not have it in writing. and stop causing trouble. The people in WA would never let that happen. and will not happen at the Nats because we all have One rule book end of story.

If you race in 200/300 class at any MA event you are there forever!

Thats the rule .

Ozquad, if you have a letter from MA supporting your claim why don't you post it up?? Your posts read like you're just someone tooling around stirring sh*t.

Your mom has it in writting. Bullshit Just tell me who signed it at MA.

And by the way if MSA has a rule in its regs Nobody can over ride them.

The rule of MA are there for your protection . so little kids with swell heads don't get run over by older more experienced kids with dads withe a lot more money that can afford big engines and don't cry when they get pushed off the track.

there are you shorter now.

who signed the letter?

Ozquad, maybe you should spend less time going on about rules without backing them up and more time concentrating on your english subjects at school, especially Grammer

90cc to under 13yrs if your 12 you can ride in that class
12- under 16 if your 12 you can ride that class too

when you turn 13, you make a choice stay down or go up for that year, but you cant ride in both once your 13.

And yes in WA we allow 12 year olds to ride in both classes, until they turn 13.

Anyone recall Lochie riding in the '06 nats in both classes?

The rule was written to cater for small 12 yr olds to stay down, or large 12 yrs olds to advance to the bigger bike. Most 12 yr olds go straight to blasters here, usually they cant wait !!
How do I know? I requested that rule for the book in 2005 GCR's with the above rationalle.
Before 2004 you had to be 13 to ride in the older class.

Yes but once you ride in 13 years you canonot go back true. ever

I will check on Locky but I believe he did not ride in 13 in 06 because of this very rule.

No you cannot ride both check the rule you wrote

I’m quite certain Aus #1 90cc rider would not be riding in both classes if they didn’t have the green-light from MA for the GCRs allowing this. End of story – move forward people.
