Hi all,
I am sorry to say that at this stage the Thumb Pump 300 Offroad Series looks like being just the one event. We received fantastic support from riders and the industry for the first round and many riders have said they were keen for more rounds, however the responses from the industry from the proposals to sponsor additional rounds in 09 have been, well, nonexistant. I guess the current global economic crisis has effected us all. We expected this to be the outcome however we didn't want to give up so we kept plugging away. Don't give up hope though. We are still looking at a few different options for later in the year if a sponsor is found and we will keep you posted.
Failing that, we are definatelly going to be back at Pinnaroo in April next year for the running of the Thumb Pump 300, and I promise, no rain this time.....possibly!

Anyone coming to WA for the Safari, which finishes on the 8th August, the following weekend is the Hyden Ironman. August 15th 16th.

After thousands of km's in the safari not sure you would be interested for another 300kms, but just putting it out there !
This is a Quads only event and is just great !

Mick is Prize money sush a big deal?

If it means not having TP round 2 because of a sponsors purse.

Maybe you should charge a little more?

Or Maybe the other quad clubs around step up and run one.

I would do it no worries but I don't think many would travell to Darwin. I could get 40 local riders + Goverment support.

Maybe WA?

Never thought i'd say it but I agree with Husky. You don't need prize money for it to be a great event

3rd for that.
I'd definitely rather just see another Zero prize money event.

OK Froggy

What I do...... Sponsors cover Prize money and Trophies

Costs Ma permits
shirts
advertising
dunnies
2 ways hire
Ranger hire
Food & drink
Ambo
Track setters (a tank of fuel)
a small gift for my main people (lap scorers, canteen, pit set up etc)

income entries 60 x $150 = $9000
food & drink $2-4000 (imagine if we had a stall at finke)
Spectators nil

This from a club point of view where help is easy.

Don't take this the wrong way I'm not having a go.

Froggy what does it cost to get in at finke?

Our Club has a Massive moblie food van (brand new)

Maybe Quad riders could man it at Finke and proceeds go towards events?

what do you reckon Mick?

Just my thoughts
What about thinking of any potential sponsors known to Ozatv members that Mick could approach to gain funds or product to run other rounds of TP interstate.
The prize money is not the be all but it is the biggest purse in Australia for ATV racing and I’m sure that’s the way Mick wants to keep it.
The TP has only been promoted here on Ozatv to make it happen, maybe with a bit help from the people here it will continue to a national series.
I’m pretty sure the Pinnaroo round is still go for next year.

OK thats a great Idea Scooter

I'll go First

Mick I'll get the Contact for the owners at Predders Suspenion . They are mad quad bike guys and they are based in Vic. These Guys could spend $10 000 no worries in there advertising budget. I will get their mobile number for you.

Are you talking about catering fees, if so around $1000

Our Club has a Massive moblie food van (brand new)

You talking bout down the finke end? Havent been down there to know what food is there already but also have to look at costs of getting it there and also insurances and food permits. Could be a good idea though.

what do you reckon Mick?
