Things are not progressing as quickly as I had planned, but here is what I am up to so far:
Repainted (Nissan - Metallic Gold) & assembled swingarm
Got the motor back today, gave it a paint & will put it in tonight or tomorrow
Tomorrows list - Put new bearing in front wheel, paint fuel tank, install motor (if not done tonight).
Now it's time for a bourbon & maybe a sit on the trike. _________________ Raptor 700R 09' |

Turned the forks around. Not doing a full on restoration job on this, just a bit of a pretty up & hopefully mechanically sound so I can just ride it. _________________ Raptor 700R 09' |

Going to get some spacers to widen the back up, solid plate type.
Won't be ready for this Sunday, probably another 2 weeks, see how work goes.. But will come up for a ride on Sunday on the Raptor with you guys.
Does any one have a picture of the plate thingy/lock that the seat clips/locks into at the rear. Will be able to make it if I know what it looks like. _________________ Raptor 700R 09' |

If you get a sample you could get it laser cut or make it out of alloy.

iiiiiiiiiihhh Also Shawn, in the middle of your swingarm at the back, im not sure if thats meant to be a grease nipple because you've got to tighten that up pretty well as it helps stop your carrier spinning and your chain loosening. You can use the bolt that holds your rear master cylinder to the frame if you like........i did! Looks really nice mate and its a real credit to you. Where did you get that rear caliper from? It looks brand new. Ive been thinking about adding a set to my trike! _________________

It's going to take a little longer than I thought, but it will get there. _________________ Raptor 700R 09' |

I will post some more pics later tonight. I am about 90% complete. Just waiting for my rear shocky to come back, buy new handlebars & get the rear wheel spacers.
Have got one problem though, when trying to start I get a big kickback after a couple of kicks & what seems like a backfire in the expansion chamber. Anybody got any ideas. Got spark, got fuel. _________________ Raptor 700R 09' |

Good stuff Shawn, looks like you'll be ready to come riding with us on the 5th. Im heaps keen to see pics too. It sounds like your timing may be off and the firings a little off. Im probably wrong though, thats just my guess.
Keep us posted. _________________

Ok now I have a bigger problem, snapped the kickstarter shaft
Had to take the carby off, it was flooding, crap on the needle. Put it back together gave it a kick in the guts & the kickstarter continued straight across the garage floor. I am thinking about just welding the kickstarter on for now, cannot see the sense in stripping the motor down & spliting it just for this at this point of time. Then look at obtaining a new shaft ready for when the motor needs a rebuild down the track. _________________ Raptor 700R 09' |
