My brother and I bought these ATC 70's yesterday. One of them is in decent nick, the other has had some parts taken of it, also looks like someone tried to paint it blue aswell.
The good one does not run as the coil lead is broken of. However this doesn't really matter us, as these engines are going and being replaced with 125cc lifans, which we ordered today.
Might mess about and put big bore kits on them etc.
Going to be pretty good fun racing against each other on these little things!
Anyone know what year these little fellas are?
Also where can I find a petrol tank cap?

We are in south Australia. I'll have to check the numbers on them tomorrow. New engines and other new parts, should start arriving mid next week, then the fun begins.

We were looking at doing the pull start conversions, but looks like the suitable pull starters of the 70 quads are hard to find, even harder to find 2. Also we would then have to modify them.
So getting some sets of spacers made up at local engineering shop and going to cut guards to use kick start. Then build our exhausts around the kick starts movements.

maybe try and hinge your guard, so you can unlatch it when you wanna start it, probably be better than cutting into the plastics, good luck with the builds though, keep us posted. laughing

Nice 70's fellas. The ol 70's are really wakin up around the place lately good to see.
With the kick start issue ya can make a bracket,And run a gear (like a gearbox gear or similar) on the kick start shaft itsself then have another gear mesh to it mounted to a kick start lever and that will reverse the kick start action so instead of kickin back itll now kick forward if that makes any sense lol.

It would be a 73 wouldn't it because of the unpainted forks? Unless maybe they were swapped from another model.

One engine arrived yesterday, the other and carbies and other bits should turn up today hopefully. New 125cc Lifan engines.
First thing I did was remove all the bolt on the casing and sure enough, no locktite. So they all got locktited, started fitting one engines last night and figuring out how much I need to space out my wheels to clear the movement on the kickstart.
More progress pics soon.
The pit bike in picture will probably donate some parts to these, like exhaust and maybe clutch set up etc.
