You should check to see if the motor is still turning over somehow,it could have locked up on you to cause that to happen? |

Very ouch Aussiedunner. Hope all is well.
Yeah checked the motor, it is all still turning OK. Will weld the kickstarter on tomorrow night, see if I can kick the whole side off this time, LOL. I also checked the timing, it appears to be set as per the manual, but I have had the pulse generator changed, could this be causing any problems.

Got my wheel spacers today 2.5" each:
No spacers
With spacers
Also does anybody know how to or where I can get some info on how to set the gap on the pulse generator?
I welded the kickstarter on & I still cannot start it. Got fuel, got spark, timimg set as per manual, was told the gap on the pulse generator could be wrong seeing it had been renewed.

Not much of an update, but here goes.
I have thrown in the towel on this bloody thing.
The bloody thing just refuses to start no matter what I do. Will be giving it to a motorcycle mechanic this week to hopefully sort it out for me.

It gets like that sometimes doesnt it. Im sure its something really small you've over looked. Always good to get a fresh view on a problem. Last time mine wouldnt go i tried kicking it over for about 15mins before Dad opened the fuel lid and informed me it was out of petrol. True story.

I too believe it is only something small, it seems like it is firing when the piston is at the bottom of its cycle not at the top. Don't even know if this is possible, somethings just not right. A fresh set of eyes & hand will surely sought it.

Check that your woodruff key on the crank is ok and its lining up with the slot on your flywheel.
I've come across this before,you can have spark,fuel and compression but all at the wrong time.
It's a slim chance but worth a look........

Thanks for the advice guys. haven't taken it to mechanics as yet. Have ordered a new kickstarter shaft from the USA, should be here in about a week hopefully. So I am going to replace this before I try anything else, will have a look at the woodruff key in the meantime.

Its now at the mechanics (his problem now). Won't have it back until it's running. Other than that it's all finished, have nothing else to do to it for now. Will post some pics when I get it back.

Looks like it's the CDI, the one that came with the trike was no good and the mechanic tried another one (aftermarket), it makes a spark but not at the right time, if that makes sense.
Got a hold of a second hand CDI in the USA yesterday, it's being airmailed so should recieve it next week. Also recieved the kickstarter shaft & kicker from the USA, will put this on the shelf til motor needs a rebuild at some stage.
So right about not being finished, already thinking of other things to do to it.
Also going to get one of them horsepower inducing race plates, there quick!!!!

Yeah might wire up an on/off switch for my race plate, then be able to use it like a nitrous system, flick the switch and go!!!

After you install the race plate you have to make sure you number them correctly. Mine's running a 45 and i think thats about right. Jamie's must be terribly lean!!!  I havent started pulling my top end apart yet but i'd say it'll be about a good 2 months maybe more before its back on the sand!

99.9% finished!!! Haven't really had a ride on it as yet, couple of quick squirts up & down my steet, seems to go well. Just have to get the race plate & a grab bar & I'm done for now. Will be about 3 weeks (due to work) before I can take it out for a good ride & run it in & then I'll be ready for Stockton.
