Hey guys ive just blown my head gaskets on my engine and im going to be pulling the head off it in the next week or so to fix them. I figuered while im at it i'd like to do some mods to it to get some more go out of it. I'll be pretty much only riding the dunes and i dont want to go overboard but i would like to be able to beat the liquidcooler that beat me last weekend in a drag. (250RBen) Its an '82R engine and so far the only mod is a DG pipe and silencer. I was thinking along the lines of getting the cylinder ported, buying some V-Force 3 reeds and a reed spacer and adding the 85 round slide carb i have. Should i go for the 86 square slide carb? Will these mods be enough for a significant improvement? What do you guys suggest? What other tricks and tips is there? _________________

I can give you the Ph number for my machinist and you can talk to him, he has been getting two strokes to go harder for years now.
The best way would be with a big bore kit they are still around if you look hard enough, my brother in law has one on his.

| If your gunna go new carb go pwk air striker probably around 38mm.as for big bore yeh they do make abit of diff but the stock air cool barrels have alot of potential as well lots of things you can do.ports, timing, balance factor of crank, shave head (make sure its done right or will be more trouble than its worth) The v force reeds will be a good upgrade. reed spacer will not so much give you more power just changes the way the power is deliverd.Than you can always run her on methanol (make sure you have it jetted properly lol) altough expensive and you will hate gettin to tha signa than realising your on reserve lol just a few thoughts mate. |
