I grew up along side Chad Reed and pited for him when he was a kid. He had a idol Jeremy Mcgrath . That's my logic . Kids have idols. All our juniors in Darwin follow how Joe Byrd is doing in the states now. And being Aus No 1 Ryan should do promotional stuff as well . Give back to sport. Ryan, probably is some kids idol . Tell him to take niko pen with him when he gets lunch. Sorry I believe in that stuff. You can't buy smiles on faces at races. makes you feel better now. _________________ Truth and Honor and Trust ... never under estimate Them. |

lucky there is one in the tool bag just for that occasion. and he does more than you think there are a group of young quad riders in the north west association that he does coaching/mentoring for that you wouldnt see and im sure there is stuff that other pro's do that we dont know about, just because its not written on a forum board doesnt mean it doesnt happen.
your 100% right there is nothing better then that look its worth and 100 race wins...

Mate have a look at Ryan's face book photo's there is photo's of him with young fans he does not know that mums asked could he sign their shirts and get a photo with him.
I must be honest I do not know about the rest of the riders but I am sure they would do the same for the kids ( the ones I know from W.A ) Even try it yourself with Ryan he has more time for kids and their parents than he does for his family at race meetings and for that I am proud of him. And am sure the rest of the boys would be the same. Could you see Ant, Chris ,Chad ,Ryan ,Luke telling a kid to shove off we are to busy, and as far as posters go you do not need them today with digital cameras a picture says a thousand words ( sorry about the old saying ) I mean dad on a holiday can always get a poster signed to his kid from a so called pro he has never met or seen.
Please do not think I am having a personnel shot at you Husky your involvement with the juniors and quad racing is a great thing I can see what you are saying about the kids. And you keep it up mate you are a inspiration to us all you may not look at yourself like a Champ but maybe you could give out signed posters cause like it or not you are a champion to CHEERS Mick |

Its amazing what behind the scene things that most Pro riders do, yep coaching one on ones for a variety of juniors and seniors, travelling to remote areas for coaching clinics, taking time of work to be a mentor/Coach/trainer for MWA for the Jnr Elite riders both two and four wheeled, signatured caps, goggles, shirts, programmes and yep the odd occassional poster, not quite 200 as is apparently expected.
Quiet achievers.
But yep agree with Mick, take a good look at most of the Pro riders facebooks and MSN and see how many kids are activated to them, I know from my sons its many, and they all chat with him and ask him questions about racing and its a non stop communication base. |

Yes and the boys just do it no reward, no bragging only cost to them and their sponsors it happens every day in all aspects of sport world wide.
And yep it cost the pro's nothing
Geez their parents are great
And just to clear the air It costs me only for myself to get to the races as Ryan's Mum and Craig back him for which I am proud of them for doing so and admire them for believing in him. so I can argue for him here hahahahaha OH yeah and having to put up with Milky lol
Nah love em all specially Ryan's 2 biggest fans Rachael Sharna |

just a thought. |
Pretty good idea... seen a few huge crash's recently, most in the first lap, hitting holes that had formed over a round, or woops that had got to 700mm deep. _________________ www.waquadmx.com |

Hey Mick New rule in the regs ..... If you get lapped in pros they won't let you start the next race. only messing with ya they migh give you a lap head start Me I'm gonna bring a hot babe in a G to hold the 30 second board and distract the rest of the field. Thats a plan ah Mick. _________________ Truth and Honor and Trust ... never under estimate Them. |

You sure know how to make friends hey Pesky.
That's it now, I think you have succeeded in abusing every single person in the industry. Nice work Tiger.

well 1st - pesky asked a question about the sub regs and why they are like they are and if changes would benefit the industry - like promoting more classes which would highlight brands and top riders efforts in their classes.... Discussion on possible improvements is usually how forums can benefit the industry as well as the social and advertising opportunities provided.
Huskygoat wrote:
I find that hard to understand why this is so. In my View the support class are just as important as the champ classes . Is there any at MA that have any Idea or was the advisory committee involved again. We are travelling a long way as many others are to realise 11 out of 17 riders we are bringing don't really matter. what do you think petew?
To me this statement says - Do the powers regulating the sporting classes understanding the huge commitment of participants and who makes these decisions? Would acknowledging the invested effort of more riders benefit the sport? What do you think petew?
Then old55 wrote
Its the Nationals, its racing, its a weekend away, we get to catch up with fellow riders that we dont see all year and you start this again on this topic, how about some positive feed and support for SA and encouragement for riders from ALL STATES, its obvious by the number coming from WA that also do the "support classes, that it doesn't worry them.
To me this statement says - we are there for the social piss up (so classes don't worry us) and not to promote the sport or the riders or the financial backers of the sport and if you ask questions and try to discuss improvements for future benefits for the industry regardless of state then your a pesky dog turd.
Then for some stupid reason pesky tried to illustrate that the nationals is the place to attract positive attention to the sport --- which was then twisted around to a "My exhaust is longest" exercise. Men and their mothers
Then for some other stupid reason pesky gives up and trys to lighten it up with dumb new suggestions for a giggle. Which is really dumb cause now everyone will want to get a look at the 30 second board - just like down in Katherine! Then equal rights will come in and the women will need a male g hrmmm there is an idea
Perhaps Huskygoat should stop caring about the quad industry because asking questions is a crime.
MIck is right - a placing is huge success
The Joe Bryd race was to promote the sport and those in it - which I think Nationals is. Think about it - Karate Kid sent a huge amount of people into Karate, The Saddle Club sent girls to horse riding. Why? cause the average thought I could do that - they have a go.
Personally I understand the suggestion by Mrs Gaitar - It may stop a death and would warm the engines and riders up however if it's done for one class then people will want every class to have the benefit then the time would be an issue It seems more than ever your damned if you do and damned if you don't. . Cotton wool - don't get me started about risk and preventing your loved ones being in intensive care on life support! _________________ Family is most important.... next is our quads |

With so much in fighting between competitors and sausage measuring competitions happening between all the states and their riders it's no wonder we have no real major support from the rest of the motorcycling community. I'm sick of reading and hearing about how "my idea is better than yours" from all the different people involved that think they can do it better.
Put a mirror next to your bed and WAKE UP TO YOURSELVES!!!
Has anyone ever heard the saying "United we stand, Divided we fall"???
All I have read about here is how everyone else is wrong and what I do is better. Put your sausage back in your pants and realise that there may be a better way to do things than your own way and bagging anything that is different.
I really don't see why the Pros couldn't do a sighting lap before a race. If you can hit the whoops as fast as Lancaster or Worthy then I'll give you a sighting lap aswell!! Otherwise let the top of our sport have the recognition they deserve for battling through the hours of practise and and coming through the support classes.
When it comes down to it, the people that support our racing and it's growth are the parents of the younger riders paying the bills to travel all accross the country and sometimes the world to further their kid in the sport we all love. They are the reason there is more than just the vets class at the races because we all know those are about the only guys that can afford to do what we are all fortunate enough to do. _________________ You Can Fix Alot Of Things In This World But...
