What about a debate section, where two people can discuss (debate) a disagreement they may have or an opinion, only the two people in debate can post so there are no thirdparties with snide remarks therefore reducing fuel to fire, this way disagrements can be sorted in one area easily moderated , obviously same site rules would apply, no personal attacks, and no matters that should be dealt with by outside authorities.
Moderators would have to approve topic and reason for debate first.
Both parties would have to agree to debate, therefore one nominates the topic and second party, second party can either accept or decline debate.
I don't wish to insight arguments, however they are always going to occur, at least this way people can have there say without interuption, and you'd be suprised how quickly issues dissolve if let run there course without interference. I also think it would make for some great reading. |

Why don't you just pm them if you have something to debate about?
PMing seems like a logical solution, don't really think debates between two people would be that interesting for the public to view. |

Great opinion want to debate about it , seriously though if we all just pm'd would kinda take the point out of the public forum, like it or not we're all not going to agree with everything posted, everyone has an opinion, this doesnt necessarily have to be about a dissagreement as this is usually associated with a personal issue, but more importantly hearing a point of view and sharing one of your own, but this way it doesn't escalate. It's all about reducing the puppets that throw in a comment to stir the pot, and keeping other threads conflict free. You said it yourself you wouldn't find this interesting, perfect for you dont visit the debate section and enjoy the rest of the site without all the crap. Lets remember it's only the internet, nothing should be taken too seriously, were all here for the same reason to interact with others that share a common interest. This section may not see too many debates but atleast it would be there for people to reference and may even prevent silly issues as people may relate to prior debates. Either way I dont mind, make love not war I say |

I was involed in another forum where there was a free for all section, except for threats of voilence and slagging for eg your partners etc, and while it took off for a while, it was dead in 3 months, I for one didnt want to read crap like that, but I think it could be interesting say if FOR EXGAMPLE NOW... I put up a post that banshees are crap for reasons 1, 2, 3, 4, then poster banshee freak puts up his response, AND ANY OTHER POSTS ARE DELETED WITHOUT WARNING AND NO REASON WHY.
Then there is a poll to see who won, open for 48 hours, then its locked for ever. _________________ 2005 KFX700

Then there is a poll to see who won, open for 48 hours, then its locked for ever. | Kinda except for the part of just throwing a statement up like "banshees are cap" or whatever, cause this would be starting an issue for the sake of it, I was thinking this would be more for an issue that occurs in an outside thread, but before it escalates with extra input, it could be bought in for debate, this way the original outside thread doesnt get side tracked, and the two main offenders can sort out their point of veiws. This is also where the mods would have to approve topic for debate, and reasoning, to stop people just coming in for the sake of an argument. Probably is a silly idea, and the last thing I wish to do is insight arguing, I just find it annoying when a thread is skewed off track from a usually a petty issue turning into much more due to the unfounded comments of others. (reducing fuel to fire, sorting issues out quickly and getting back to talking ATV etc) |

Bloody well said johnson!!! On a serious note i fully agree with a debate section as you look at all the good threads get sidetracked by stupid comments often fuelled by the most stupid things.Alot of other forums i am a member of have this vs that sections kinda whats getting thrown up here.I say go for it. _________________ 1984 ATC 300R, 1986 TRX 500R,1984 ATC 200X, ATC 70 WITH CUSTOM LAYDOWN 250R ENGINE, 125CC CUSTOM THUMPSTER TRIKE |
