How many guys would be interested a flat track series based in NSW that had a restiction on mods..IE 450cc and only bolt on mods allowed.

Ive heard on the grape vine that this may happen and have attractive prize money and a contingency program as well.

Let us know your thoughts.

Probably anything as long as the engine capacity and comp ratio are unchanged.

hard to police. how many quads fit that category. dont think it should have more prize money than the other classes. I have a 450 to fit that class if it ever happens.

There are no "set in stone" details as yet..I was talking on the phone a few days ago to the business that is going to push to get this to happen.

What is needed is a series that is fair. Right now you have guys with 5.7 litre Raptors with mega bucks injected into them that just blow everything away down the straights.

I let you guys know more as I find out

I have spoken to the guys at Kempsey and we are welcome there any time on there club days. One phone call and we can race at Tamworth on any or all of there winter series rounds mx or dirt track. What weekend would you like to race at Raymond Terrace? sooo much talk yet so few turn up to race or practice days and prize money is not the issue, well i race because i enjoy it .

If more people were imformed about the up and coming events you would get more riders turn up. I feel the event organisers need to do more to promote there events. I know that myself, and the crew of guys i ride with would be keen to ride some of the local events if we knew when they wre on.

Its easy guys , you need to help yourself - TAMWORTH and HUNTER (Raymond Terrace)and Kempsy mcc = quads at any MX or Flattrack race day if your really interested in racing join the clubs and ask for a calendar then post on here when you wish to race share the petrol money and away you go.

Hi all,

I just wanted to put my two cents worth in on this topic.
Kevin, i'm not sure why you would make this sort of statement, I have one of these blown raptors and yes i have put alot of money into this thing but that is a personal choice - anyone else can do the same but perhaps they choose to spend their money more wisely. I have always had time to offer assistance and help anyone when they need it and anyone who has raced with me or had anything to do with me will know that.

I am the only "blown" raptor which is out in front, and i am good friends with at least 4 of the others which have the same as my bike but which are back in the pack racing with everyone else.

To make it fair, i have gone out and sourced myself a honda 450, onto which i only want to put an axle, a arms and maybe an exhaust and will be riding this at most meetings.

Kind Regards

Adrian.

PS can we please stop the comments in this regard and focus our energy on getting this sport going and boosting the entries at race days.

There is a club day at Cowra on Sunday the 25th, come and give it a go - and no the raptor wont be on the track i will be on a standard honda 450 - and no not phil's.

I guess Adrian, most people have seen it as cheque book racing and just dont have the funds to spend, to keep up with people that do, dont get me wrong if i had the funds i would make sure i had the fastest quad out there, but it would be great for the sport if we have a limtied capacity class of some sort.

I know a few people that have not gone to events like cowra because they know they had absolutly no chance of beating your bike on a long track, they just cant see the point racing a 727 raptor againts a 400 honda or ltz400.....If everyone is on a even playing field it might attract more people to these events if they think they might have a chance of finishing at the pointy end, instead of being scared they might look stupid getting lapped..!

So, i'm all for a 450 cc class or something similar, but doesnt matter what the rules are, someone wont abide by them.!

agreed^^

i have heard about these 727's, a mate of a mate has one that races you i think adrian, but there has been quite a bit of development, read: money, gone into this bike and as a result becomes a virtually unbeatable bike/rider combo.

me and a few other mates have been waiting for this to get off the ground so we can go out and have some good competitive fun......

i just wish i had the money to build my 700 to this level to at least have a chance.

do they have classes for the likes of the 350 raptors and bikes like that, a stock class would be good for the newbies such as myself as it would give us confidence to get out and race and help build the sport up even more

Sweet, we need any help possible to get quads happening in NSW. I'm sure there is more quad riders now that want to race, so hopefully we can keep these places.

I Just got off the phone from the president of the Barleigh Ranch track, and he told me that they are licenced for both bikes and quads. He told me that on you first visit to the club you dont have to become a member, but if you would like to join membership is only $30. We are welcome to ride at both there practice days and race days.

If your like myself and you dont have a MA (motorcycling Australia) licence you can purchace from the the track a recreational licence (wich can be used for practice on that day only) or a one day licenece for race days (wich can be used for racing on that day only). Now the fellow that i spoke to did not have a calender, and the secretary of the clubs phone rang out, so we will have to wait for bryantsatv lo list the dates. Once we have the dates we need to get together and find out what date suits the majority of us and let the club know so that can be sure they have enougth license's there on the day.

At our first get together we should maybe just concentrate on having a good days riding and talk about what we want to do in regards to holding a series..

To those that may not know it, Barleigh Ranch has both a flat track and motox track and is located to min north of the end of the freeway.

If anyone has any suggestions for ways we can get the word out about this, please feel free to post it
