Hey all
Spent the Easter weekend up in Lancelin. What an amazing place. I have been riding some sort of bike for most of my life and for some reason have never been up to the dunes at Lancelin. Even though there were heaps and heaps of people out there it all just seemed to work extremely well...the kids absolutely left there with grins from ear to ear...
If anyone reads this was there over the weekend, is it always that busy?
Anyway....well done to all who were there and I hope no one got hurt ove the long weekend.
Cheers |

Matt
Glad to hear you had such a great time. The sand dunes is such an under appreciated thing at times.
Apart from racing, I think sand-dunes are the best thing you can do on a quad, and trikes really come into their own in the sand.
I've taken novices up there a heap of times and every time we have a ball.
I just take then out to a quiet part of the Dunes and let them find their feet and then they're off having a great old time.
Having said that I never go up there at Easter because everyman and his dog is up there at easter. Mid week is the absolute best time to be up there. Virtually the whole place is your personal sandpit. _________________ State governments give us REC rego + area to ride ATVs legaly! State Status: VIC-No (Nazi's) QLD-Yes(no place to ride tho) NT-? Do love the Lancelin Dunes, wish they would make a set track with directional signs to eliminate the head on scenario, far too many injuries happen out there imo.
I know its massive and hard to do but it would good to address this particular issue.
I wouldnt be going easter w/end crazy busy.
I actually spent a w/end bout 3 months ago further up the track(parrallel along the coast, inland track) near dide bay to avoid the traffic, awesome spot !!
got some pics somewhere in the magic box...hmm
good times!! _________________ I wasn't Speeding Officer...I was Qualifying! |

Nice piccies Teeroy. nice looking 200X you have there. Good to see its out and about.
The traffic control signs is a great idea, especially on the main north south tracks. WOuld be good for most users. Not so much a benifit to us ATV riders as technically ATV's aren't allow up the beach. Which is a crying shame. As I believe its 4WD's that should have the restrictions placed on where they should be travelling. And that ATV's should be given more freedoms. Be a lot less cut up trails and bogged tourists out there. But it aint going to happen in my life so I won't be losing any sleep over it.
Where's the helmets big fella? broke limbs can usually be fixed, broken heads not so much! I never let my kids near an ATV/motorcycle without one.
I'm sounding like and old mole at the moment so I'll stop. Welcome to the boards, perhaps we'll cross paths one time up that way. I'm bound to come over and say G'Day to anyone riding a trike up that way. _________________ State governments give us REC rego + area to ride ATVs legaly!
