Can anyone offer any suggestions on the best ways to get from adelaide to pinnaroo? is it pretty straight forward to drive there?
Ill be flying in on friday night to adelaide, and flying out sunday night. is anyone else arriving in adelaide friday night? perhaps we could split hire car costs?
or if anyone is already going that way, want to give me a lift?

Sending my entry off tomorow. Hope it gets there by Friday. It's all snuck up on me too quick. _________________ "If in doubt go flat out"

Map of how to get to the track from Pinnaroo township is now up on the Thumbpump.com site.
http://www.thumbpump.com/site/index.php?option=com_eventlist&view=eventlist&Itemid=80
Click on above link to go to the national calendar, then scroll down to the thumb pump 300 listing and click on the venue button.
To get to Pinnaroo from Adelaide, head up the freeway, go through Tailem Bend then turn left onto the Mallee Highway and keep going until you get to Pinnaroo. It is about 2½ hours from Adelaide to Pinnaroo by car.

What's the track going in like? We are planning on bringing our truck because its got beds, shower, sink and everything in it. How likely is it that we will get in o.k? _________________ "If in doubt go flat out"

I hope so. Even though it is a horse truck dad has fitted it out nice with bunks and a sink and shower so while all you guys will be dusty and sore I'll be clean (but still sore) after a nice shower .
So when you see definantly 2 but hopefully 3 (maybe bringing a mate who is an apprentice mechanic with darren morgan racing top fuelers as pit crew with dad) turn up in a horse truck with akubra's on you know its Team Feral so come and say G'day. _________________ "If in doubt go flat out"

Just a note to everyone coming over the locusts here are really bad, not sure about further Pinaroo way but it might pay to cover the radiator of you car/truck ect with some flyscreen to keep the buggers out. Not sure about on the bikes though. Someone closer to Pinaroo might be able to tell us how bad they are over there. But I would say if you are coming through the Ouyen way then do it. _________________ "If in doubt go flat out"

But seriously, I'm sure that's a curve ball you guys could have done without. Nature just sucks sometimes. _________________ Remember. We elect politicians, but we have to deal with bureaucracy.

Gday, I'm from Bordertown. Down further on Border Road (dirt/rubble) closer to the property there were some huge bogholes (as in window height on a 4wd) which have recently been filled in (probably because of the traffic for this event) but it wasn't packed down and a couple of guys helping in the Border Track working bee weekend just gone got bogged to their chassis going over a freshly covered one on their way to the Border Track.
So keep an eye out for anything that looks like "fresh" roadwork on Border Road and go around them
There's a local contact at Pinnaroo for the event who can update everyone on road in conditions, her name is Amanda 08 8577 8195
Amanda has been promoting the event in the upper south east through local radio etc so thumbs up for her I wouldn't have known about it if I didnt here it on the local radio.
Might attend ourselves yet, sounds like a great event!
I've heard it's as tough as the Finke for quad's?
