Well ive been ridin our 70's heaps lately and its got me all keen on pullin my laydown r engine out and get her goin so i got up this mornin went over to work pulled all the motor apart (coulple things i had to fix) and then had a thought.wonder how it would go in an alloy frame well one thing led to another just gotta get a sleeve kit an piston from the states and get the head stock machined and then im into it.Maybe if i would just finish one thing at a time i would get all these creations goin ay lol ohwell.

Nice one hunter, how bout a nice set of alloy forks, alloy tank, and making that axle hub adjustable so ya can adjust chain tension, I think your capable, and if ya wanna go crazy incorporate your silencer into the centre tube, or just have it coming out the centre. Make use of that wasted space.

Aside from the alloy Forks/triple clamps, you should make in alloy a steering stem, foot pegs and back bar too.
Buy some alloy handle bars, fibreglass seat base and then there wont be too much steel on the old girl.
Only leaves wheels, hubs, axles, misc bolts... oh and the crank plus gearbox...

lol maybe i should come an measure up your trailer before i start anything else ay.An r frame would be abit harder than a 70 frame.

Ive got an idea for all that space inside where you said i should run the silencer im gunna make it the airbox.nothin worse than runnin a uni off the back of the carb on a 70 fills with "profanity removed" in about 10 seconds lol.

Thats a good idea bout the airbox, make sure you make it big enough to carry all your shifters, screw drivers and spark plugs that tend to accumulate in that area laughing
Oh and good to see you survived the lightning on friday night, I was nearly gonna come over too Laughing

Well bit more of an up-date got the frame all finished now just gotta order the sleeve kit and wait for my case to finish getting milled than shes goin cant wait for backyard sliding vid number 2 lol.An i think this would have to be the first trike ive ever built that actually has brakes lol.The back of the frame looks alot smaller like the side plate parts than a stock 70 because of the extra legnth of the laydown r engine instead of extending the main tube to much i moved the engine further back a little.

Wheres ya alloy front end?

Also, you sure about the position of the rear tank mount? and with all that side part missing, can you still bolt on the front of the seat?

Alloy front end will come soon.
The rear tank mount is in the exact same spot as a honda looks misconceiving cause of the side plates and the front end still has a little legnth added.

I didnt have a front seat mount with me on the guards i had when i made it then when i got home it misses by about 10mm (thats murfys law right lol) NOt a biggie at all just gotta add abit of plate than tap a hole for em thats the last part im worried about.

LOL beat me to it mate.Well any way here it is about 90% finished,Just gotta make some footpegs sought out the pipe (just abit of cut and movin)the pipe in the photo is just siitin there,As i made that one for the same engine just it was in a suspended thumpster frame so i just have to modify it abit (worked really well).also just a coulple of little odds and ends than ill paint it all an clean it up.Not sure on what colour tossin up between the white and blue scheme or all black and silver. What do yas reckon on colour??Also gotta make a top engine mount. And a linkage set up for the gear shift as the motor is sittin back u can see there wont be enough room for your foot.not a biggie
I do know one thing its a whole lotta engine for a little trike lol.
