A few weeks ago they held the first event ever for Rally Moto at the Forest Rally in WA and it was a great sucess.......read about it here

http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=514877

The bikes and quads were accepted well in to the rally scene and they are now being considered for a class in the ARC for 2011. With the addition of bikes and quads they are talking about the possibility of expanding TV coverage.

Am currently working in with the Off road Buggy guys to incorperate Quads into the Australian National 500km race held here, as a 2 x 250km loop, still in the early stages at the moment. Kind of like Finke but without stinkin 2 wheelers

15k loop, no bog holes , one good down hill part, 2 or 3 k road section where the spectators could see us, some were in the forrest aswell like the gncc races, tight forrest sections the stumps were the thing you had to look out for , No dust and everyone had a blast the rally people like us alot aswell .

This will be a yearly thing i think for sure.

we had 3 loops saturday and 4 on sunday.

brenton rode the last three loops with no clutch working had to be push stared at the line not a bad effort.

we all had moments out there, and if someone was stuck in front of you (not hurt ) you were just looking at how to get past them, it was so much fun .

everyone was just laughing and talking about this and that after the event it was a very good soicial event aswell with club members .

yeah we did 3 laps on the saturday same track ,an 4 laps on sunday was also the same track what you all just watch on the thump pump was just a little tease of the beginning the rest was so much more fun laughing an some riders felt like they just did a 3hr of one of our normal enduro it was a tough course for some with a couple of quads getting bent A,arms , an bjorn hitting a stump breaking his ltr 450 frame snaping from the A,arms breaking a shock as well .Dave Newman also hit a few stumps an tried some log climeing mannage to put a good dent in an A,arm but was all good to continue un till the tie rod broke on his last lap i belive mando on his raptor done a nice size stick in the radator .there was no margen for error at hi speeds in the forrest i all so road the last three laps with a broken some think in the clutch side of things an managed to finish 2nd. less than a minute behind howie who took 1st

Rally Victoria re looking at it as an option for 2011, see below...

Hello Mark,

Unfortunately we have no opportunity to incorporate the quads and motorcycles within Rally Victoria this year.
We are looking at the option for the 2011 event and beyond.

no we didnt need map readers and did have to move camp at all , this keeped the cost down as some that entered this event were more mx riders and helped us have a good turn out at late notice, which was important for us to do as a club.

this was just a good event running the same track was cool and will suit alot of riders it was a tuff track to get right , i only had one lap with no eek
