mate i've been lucky enough to have race this bike once as you see it there, amazing as this sound it turns better than my new 06 poolaris, three banshee that i own1 work with all the lonestar front end and stock ones, if your still interest i will let you know how it compares to my new ktm 525 in the engine department there no comparisent but handling of the 250r is as far as i know still to date one of the best ever handling quads just a shame that honda never brought them into australia

Yeah i understand that but it would handle just fine with twisted rear sub frame,i only asked as i purchased a ATC250R trike once and the rear grab bar was just like that and only to find later that the rear subframe was twisted to the tune of 10mm,apprently the ATC and TRX of that vintage was a bit soft in that area.
I agree its a HUGE shame we didnt get them back in the day as i would have upgraded my trike to TRX for sure, the '89 is my favorite model i even have a complete 89 TRX swingarm in my trike right now !

the rear grab bar is only mild steal and would bend easy just like on the ones on the new yamahas & hondas etc , the frame looks stright and i have and no problems with my other r either that frame looks stright to,i have noted everything about this r that i can think of; my opion was that these frames are very strong i havent even had any cracks in my race r which i have had for about 6 years that frame looks stright to, its 22years old , but then again i havent crash it either laughing

Please dont take my question the wrong way Dom it was just an observation on the grab bar and i was interested if it had affected the subframe in anyway like the trike i purchased, that damage didnt really become aparent till i stripped it down,i got suss when i bolted a brand new grab bar on and it didnt fit so out came the tape measure.
