That would be prologue practice. Not really worth it. Prologue is only a 5 min lap to decide start position only. _________________ When I'm racing I'm living..... everything else is just waiting. |

ok rode the finke track last weekend . Our goal is to get as many quads in the top 50 no matter who you are or what you ride . cool My thoughts and I'm not the greatest rider in the world ok Now if your coming ride for the first time and you want to spend some cash on the quad No 1 suspension set your suspenson to ride the whoops at your local motocross track . the whoops aren't even so can't double them but you can jump one roll the next if i tried to step up the pace i got dizzy .
from basically out of gate after the prolouge track from 10k to 25km is the roughest section and the locals said its the worst its ever been. this secton will pound you and your bike believe it or not most DNF are here or just after
this never gets graded most of the holes are 2 foot deep. up to deep well 70km mark ( this will be our first fuel stop) My polaris used 11 litres I think in the race it will use more. from 70 to 90-100 is the new section last year the track moved from the road to a graded road most times 20 to 30 metres in.
from here on the track has been graded and the whoops arn't as large as normal but by race day they can be as like park your quad in the dip and you can't see the bloke in the next one. but they are something you can't build at home and start practicing because the track is determined by the weather leading up to the event if its windy soft sand fills the dips buts sucks momentum.
I think a twist throttle is must . gearing isn't such big deal as the road section is gone. I think 140km- 150km would be heaps . Tyres are your own choose but i am running 23 up front and 22 on the back 6 ply of course .
probably the hardest part of finke 3-4 hours in the saddle trying to keep it pinned then do it again the next day ride alot would be good training.
Im happy answer any Q or get to and from finke just ask
