Ok now I'm in Minneapolis, Minnesota still wondering how the weekend went. Who won? Who sucked (barn)? and who was the stand out that no one expected (Todd127 or Ning)?

By the way I'm sure I would have been real fast if I'd been there!!!

Quirindi Motorcycle club played host to round 1 of the Hardiman ATV East Coast Cup. An absolute picture perfect day, combined with pristine track conditions was to set the scene for the best ATV racing this state has seen. The record entry list made way for five highly competitive classes.

A grade saw the Hardiman ATV Kawasaki KFX450 proving to be unstoppable with Paul Worth taking 3 from 3 over Factory rider Michael Roycroft on the Can am DS450. Roycroft finished 2nd on the day after and Woodys Honda rider, Rob Booth taking 3rd position.

B grade showcased some of the most competitive racing on the day with the lead changing on many occasions. Thomas Andruschak on the Suzuki had great pace early in the race, only to be hunted down by the rest of the pack, with Brian Duck taking the lead and finishing 2 of his motos in the top spot of the podium. Overall Brian Duck took out the day with the number one spot with Qld rider, Daniel Roberts in 2nd position and Wade Jacobs in 3rd.

The Vets class is always a hard battle, with some very determined riders wanting to grab the 1st place podium position. Geoff Mckee jumped out of the gates, leading the way for race 1 followed by Barnaby Hinzmann. Paul Nixon was showing his talents in his first ATV race, while Todd O’leary was carving up the field to take out 1st position. Todd O’leary will be heading into Rnd 2 in the points lead with a class win, closely followed by Geoff Mckee and in 3rd was Barnaby Hinzmann.

The women’s class was a highly competitive class with word that International star and NZ Women’s MX champ Nina McVicar was coming across to race, this brought out Kelly Thorne from Qld to take on the NZ champ. Nina showed why she holds the titles, taking the race prepped Hardiman/ Kawasaki KFX450 across the podium first in all her races, while Brenna Bartley Gave it her all, finishing the day in 2nd position and Qld Rider Kelly Thorne in 3rd.

C grade had plenty of wheel bashing action, with Marty Blake on his YFZ450 winning all three races, Kevin Nielsen finishing in 2nd and Shaun Goodman in 3rd.

Round 2 of the Hardiman ATV East Coast Cup will head to the well renowned Barleigh Ranch circuit on July 13th.

I find it amusing that Bob wasnt gunna ride, until his daughter called him SOFT, 30 minutes later, he's geared up ready for battle. Bobs raced at all the races so far, i dont think he can resist the fun !!! laughing
