hi peoples

i am new here. Just looking at getting back onto a trike. I had a 85 tri-z years ago and now looking at a few in the USA.

I have sourced a totally original 86 250r for $4000 landed in oz but have been offered a very original, imaculate tecate 250 1987 mode.

Any ideas on what the kwaka would be worth here and is $4k a good price for a standard 250r in excellent condition

any feedback would be great..

hope to be hitting stockton again soon

cheers

I'd be interested in how you can get them back here at that price. Do you have details and a cost breakdown?

Not sure on the Tecate value sorry.

Hi and thanks for the replies.
Yes they are good prices I know. The te ate
Will cost more but true they are very rare.
Us dollar is excellent for us at the moment.
There are also very good freight services
Internally in the us where you can get stuff back loaded
Form any state to LA. Freight is $1000 landed
Plus 10% Gst on purchase price so if you buy
Right you can do it. Will keep you posted and upload some
Pics in the next few months. It takes 12 weeks at sea on a ship.

Cheers for the replies.

So which freight company? Also don't you generally pay import duty plus GST on the total? Not just GST?

Then I think there are other charges too, like cleaning etc?

If you can get it here for that price then go for it. I researched into getting a bike over here not long ago and it's such a big task in the end I gave up and bought a quad. Not regretting it but I still love my trikes (still have one) and plan on getting another later on. Best of luck mate and put up a few pics!

The most important thing you need to have in place is import approval from the Australian Government.
This needs to be done before you purchase and ship otherwise it could take some time to get all this sorted.

Hi again

The $1000 is the total cost. It gets delivered to the freight
Company in La, they do all the paper work, import approvals, cleaning etc.
When it arrives in oz on the gold coast I pay $1000 to the freight company and you have to pay 10% Gst only on the purchase price. No import duty.
So a $2500 usd trike is about 2350 in oz $ so 230 Gst + $1000
freight =$3500 landed as an example.

DDR imports is who I am using. They import old motocross bikes.

Anyway hope this helps.

There are plenty of cheap quads in USA too.
Next time I bring in I will be buying a few to offset the cost of the
Tecate. So in 3 or 4 months look out here and eBay.

Cheers
