Motorcycling NSW has announced that, in conjunction with the Cancer Council, it will host the first-ever MNSW Call To Arms Recreational Charity Ride Day - to be held at the Lake Macquarie MCC on May 29 - with all proceeds going to the Cancer Council.

The idea behind the concept was for it to be the launching pad for a host of rider-orientated activities and initiatives over coming months, aimed at bringing more riding opportunities and fun activities back to the riders, whilst encouraging others to bring their friends and family along as well.

The Call To Arms ride day is open to all MA and non-MA licence holders and will give everyone the opportunity to ride a fully-prepped Lakes track - one of the best in Australia, get some track time in the lead-up to round three of the 2010 The Helmet Warehouse NSW Motocross Championship, whilst getting to enjoy a laid back atmosphere and let your hair down in the process.

Another highlight on the day will be the presence of some of the country's leading Pro riders from OZ's leading Factory teams, to sign autographs and say g'day. There will also be a sausage sizzle, coffee and food stalls - as well as trade stands, give-aways, raffles, a jumping castle for the kids and High Roller Energy will be on-hand throughout the day for those who need a little kick.

As an additional bonus, those who complete and pay an early entry will receive a $10 discount and will also receive a ticket to attend round 5 of MX Nationals at Raymond Terrace (Newcastle) the following day - for FREE!

It is also asked that, if possible, can riders please supply a flag marshall for 4 sessions of riding and, in doing so, will receive a further $5.00 off their admission price.

Early entry is just $30.00, whilst entry on the day is $40.00. A $5.00 discount applies for those who elect to nominate a flag marshall, with all proceeds going to the Cancer Council's Call To Arms fund.

MNSW's first-ever Recreational Charity Ride Day is set to kick-off a new-era of rider-related events and activities and we look forward to seeing you all there for an enjoyable day in the day.

The Recreational Charitry Ride Day would not be possible without the relentless support of Lake Macquarie Motorcycle Club and MNSW would like to thank the club and all of its members and officials who've helped make this happen.

I was at Lakes on the weekend. Kids instructor was carted off in an ambulance. Showed them how to crash and what happens after. Can't get more committed than that. Oh yer, was told we wouldn't be riding quads at Lakes till next year.
