This is just a personal whinge but.....
I thought "you beauty" when Brissie went digital on the the tele......
Several months on, I'm not so sure.
All the channels, except Auntie ABC, have snuck around the advertising laws about sound volume with some technical gobbledock....
Short version is, if your listening to a show on, say level 10, when the ads come on they are so loud, you have to knock the sound down to about 1/2 just to maintain the same noise levels.
And, when the show comes back on............
It's like it's muted.
It might not be illegal, but it sucks.
Whinge over, I'll go back to the TV! _________________ Remember. We elect politicians, but we have to deal with bureaucracy.

Didn't know there was a law regarding ad audio. I too hate how the ads are significantly louder than the show.
I record most of my shows now on a hard drive recorder and watch them later. Just fast forward all the ads _________________ Don't close your eyes during the crash, you'll miss the best part |

There is some ruling that the adds are not supposed to be transmitted louder.......
They call what they do something else, and get away with it.
I do the same when we record............... _________________ Remember. We elect politicians, but we have to deal with bureaucracy.

| i heard somebody talking bout this to one of those tech gurus on a talkback radio station and he asked same question, they dont transmit at a louder volume it has something to do with the pitch of the sound that they transmit or something like that, sort of like playing with ya treble or bass on ya car stereo but more technical. bloody sucks i know but thats how they get away with it |
